Some thoughts and discussions from me.

Heads up: This week is your last chance to sign up for my new boot camp, Lean Body Lifting for the October 3rd start date! If you’re ready to take on October (and part of November) with me, training effectively and eating smart for our goals, you can sign up or contact me here. This will be the only time I run this program in 2016, and the only way right now to work with me, as my VIP One-on-One online training and membership community are currently waitlisted.

This week we’re closing in on September, and what a month it has been.

For me, it’s been a month to slow down and to live up. (It’s also been a HUGE month of reflection, but I’m currently still in the midst of it, and will write more about that once I have some clarity.) But fall is upon us, and to me, fall is a perfect time to really go after it, too. Your goals, dialing in on your fitness and nutrition, changing things up, etc.

This month I’ve trained quite a bit less than usual, taking more than a week off to give my body a break, and while I was chasing waterfalls in the Pacific Northwest.

I’ve given my body the breather it needs to come back stronger and more capable.

This month I’ve also been eating above maintenance, hence one of the meanings of the name of this post, surplus September. I’ve been enjoying more wine and hyper-palatable food than I usually do.

Pretty much any cardio I’ve done has been hiking or walking.

And you know what? That’s A-OK. That was my intention. I don’t feel bad about myself, lazy, or ashamed.

I also feel ready…

Ready to take on and get after it October.

It’s perfect timing, too. My new boot camp starts October 3rd, and I’m planning to dial it in with all of my clients in this program.

Summer often comes with lots of travel, busy schedules, camping, barbecues, and enjoying the longer days – and it has for me, too! October’s a great time to take it up a notch before the holidays begin, and the busy schedules start to fill back up again. We’re feeling fresh from the summer, (and our metabolisms are humming right along, too!) and ready to buckle down.

September, I’ve enjoyed you thoroughly. Bring it, October.

Psst – If you want to see the conversation, I talked quite a bit more in detail on a Facebook Live video (finally getting over my fear) and you can see it here 🙂
