Some thoughts and discussions from me.

Happy Friday, my friends! We’ve made it through another week.

I’ve been a huge slacker in taking a day off from work lately, so while I’ll be working all day Saturday, I’m planning on taking Sunday to the mountains to get back in touch with nature, God, and myself.

When life is busy and all over the place like it is, now, for me, another tool I like to turn to is silent walks. Normally, I’ll plug in a podcast so that I can still be learning while walking, but every once in a while, taking a walk while thinking of nothing other than what’s in front of you is good for the soul.

I’ve also been listening to more music lately. Music is such a powerful sensation in that it can instill motivation, command a mood, or even determine the success of a workout!

As a spinning instructor, I consider music one of the most important parts of the class (see more on how I build my spin classes here.) Now that I’ve been teaching for years, I have nearly 100 playlists and workouts to choose from at my disposal (I save them all) on Spotify.

Even still, I like to make a new one about once a month, just so I can keep things fresh, and work on my skills of constructing a class workout. The other day I was building a more current class playlist (I typically include a well-rounded mix of songs to satisfy all age groups and preferences,) and thought I’d share it here with you.

I’d probably say the beats are best for a fast-paced cardio workout, as all of the songs have a strong beat, and are super catchy.  My top 20 workout songs for the end of summer 2015!
