Some thoughts and discussions from me.

Hi guys!

I deemed yesterday the day of get stuff DONE day. From the time I woke up until the time I got home from the gym around 7:00 p.m., I was a productive machine. I taught classes, made a bunch of necessary phone calls, trained clients, and started marketing for the new gym I’ll be training at.

Niko helped me make and print off some flyers. And by helped, I mean she got scared of the printer. That dog is so afraid of loud noises, it’s pitiful!

I did manage to take a couple breaks throughout the day to clear my head. After teaching a morning class, I stopped by this little place since I was only a few minutes away:

Chautauqua! It’s been a while since I’ve hiked around the Flat Irons, but this morning I just wanted to go there to pray, clear my head, and get my heart rate up a little.

This place is good for that kinda stuff.

However, I spent quite a bit of the hike looking all around and behind me. I kept hearing trees rustling, and thinking it was a mountain lion, coyote, bear, etc. Obviously, I made it out alive, but I did see the weirdest looking squirrel. He looked like a normal squirrel, but had rabbit ears! I kept trying to chase it to get a picture, but it was too fast. Thanks to Google, I now know that they’re called Abert’s Squirrels:

Apparently they live in Ponderosa Pines on the Eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains! Aren’t they just absolutely adorable?!

Anyway. My second break was mid-day, for one of my favorite hot yoga classes at my favorite studio, Solar Yoga.

I’m usually more of a vinyasa girl, but I absolutely love Tiffany’s Tuesday afternoon hot yoga class. When I walked into class, I had a million different thoughts swirling around my head, and by the time I lay down into shavasana, all I could think about was how good my body felt. And that, to me, is a successful yoga class Open-mouthed smile

My meals this week have been kind of all over the place. Shane’s been in California for some training for work all week (he gets back this morning!!) so I’ve been playing single girl this week. AKA – I haven’t been putting too much effort into my meals.

Breakfasts have been eaten on-the-go, right before teaching my morning classes.

This is my usual pumpkin coconut breakfast cereal, but this time I added some protein powder to the mix. I can’t remember how long it’s been since I’ve eaten protein powder – I usually just add a hardboiled egg or some breakfast meat to this meal for protein, but this day I had none prepared. Instead, I added a scoop of protein powder to the mix. I definitely prefer it without, taste-wise, but it wasn’t too bad!

And this breakfast was eaten in the parking lot yesterday morning:

Before leaving, I toasted a piece of Udi’s bread, smeared some avocado on top, and then topped it with two eggs that I cooked real quick in the microwave. Yum!

And then on Sunday, when I had a little more time, I made this breakfast hash, type meal, which basically involved me topping everything wrapped in aluminum foil in the fridge with two eggs.

sweet potato, sausage, spinach, avocado, and eggs.

Some lunches – which lately I’ve been having two of – one around 10:30 and one around 2:30. I guess you could call them big snacks? I’m not sure, they’re just meals!

salmon salad + sweet potato before yesterday’s yoga class. For this tuna salad, I made it as easy as possible: I mixed one can of salmon w/ 1 avocado, s&p, sunflower seeds, and lemon pepper. Then I drizzled it all with olive oil and lemon juice.

The coconut curry from food trucks night. This was so good! I had them add a lamb slider on top for me Smile And I also made my own lamb curry with just some veggies, ground lamb, coconut milk, and curry powder. So deliciously easy.

So yeah, meals have been easy and repetitive. Nothing too exciting, but it works for me. I’m all right with some repetition.

Speaking of repetition, guess what I did again!

I bought a Blend ticket! You might remember that I had to sell mine a few weeks ago because our house was still on the market. Well, circumstances have changed, and the other day I had the opportunity to buy Lynne’s ticket for the same price that I sold mine for. Then I bought the plane tickets, and now I’m headed to the Blend Retreat!!! I couldn’t be more excited Open-mouthed smile

Let’s just keep the good news coming. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been piloting a new feature for Your Trainer Paige virtual training services. I’ve had a couple clients request video, and more accountability, so over the past couple weeks I’ve been trying it out with friends and family. After some trial and error, I’ve finally found a system that works!

So, in addition to my written training programs, I’ll also be offering 1-on-1 personal training sessions via skype/facetime/webcam!!! I’m so excited to get started training this way.

Phew, I had a lot to say this post!! I think I’ll leave it at that Winking smile

I hope you all have a great day today!

Have you ever seen a squirrab Abert’s Squirrel before?
