Some thoughts and discussions from me.

Good morning!

Man, we have gotten a beat down here in Colorado with this blizzard passing through. It has been snowing for three days straight, and while we need the moisture, and it’s pretty, it makes commutes pretty darn difficult.

Monday night it took me double the time to drive back home from teaching a class at the gym, and Tuesday morning I got about 10 minutes into my trip, called the gym to cancel my class, and turned around back home. The roads were just pure ice! Blech. I’m more than ready for spring (and LOTS of hiking Open-mouthed smile)

Luckily, I live very close to the other gym I train at, and was able to safely make my morning and afternoon appointments. In between I did some computer work, cleaning, and took a noon hot yoga class.

It was a juicy, delicious, yummy class! Just kidding. I hate ALL of those words to describe yoga. They all make me cringe, and I hate when instructors describe a pose like that! It was actually just what I needed – not too difficult, and left me feeling all “ahhhhhhh” at the end Smile

Post-yoga lunch:

I actually made this the night before for dinner before leaving to teach class, but I didn’t get home until around 8:00, so I had a bowl of oatmeal instead. Sure made for a great lunch the next day (in its original leftover glass and all, lol)

One reason I like to go to yoga is because it forces me to be still and sit with my feelings. All day it seems like I stay busy – and if I’m not busy, I find something to keep me busy – and I hardly ever have any quiet time with my thoughts. Yoga tends to force me to be real with what’s going on with myself at that moment.

It also helps me to not be so impulsive; to stop and think a bit before I act.

The other day I was watching Ellen (love Ellen!) and she was running a segment on hugely embarrassing instagrams and tweets that random people have sent out. The point of the segment was to poke fun at these people, but then at the end, Ellen mentioned how all of these people undoubtedly regret publishing something so absurd out into the public.

It actually got me thinking…yep, I’ve definitely pressed publish on a few things I wish I could take back!

In fact, the other week when I was hiking with Lauren, we got to talking about blogging a little bit – and how we keep certain aspects of our personal lives off the blog. I admitted that I’ve written several posts that now looking back in hindsight I wish I hadn’t ever posted. Although at the time in my heart, I felt like sharing some of the more intimate, personal details of my life on the blog, I’ve also turned around and said, “man, I regret posting that.”

I blame it on the impulsive (type A) side of my personality, but there’s been a number of posts that I looked back and thought that they were probably a little too personal. Additionally, there have been some posts (namely in the first year of the blog, heh) where I’m just downright embarrassed of my writing! Another example – yesterday I had a fun and silly post all set to go up, and then the tragedy at Boston happened. I would have likely regretted publishing a light-hearted, fun post after that.

Have you ever published anything to social media that you came to regret later?

(If you answer no, I call your bluff! I think we’ve all posted a FB status update that probably didn’t need to be known to the public Winking smile ha!)
