Some thoughts and discussions from me.

Good morning!

Gosh, this weekend passed by so quickly. We had our very first guest stay over this weekend. It was so much fun to host a guest (despite the freezing cold temps and cloudy skies – boo) but it really does make the weekend go by quickly. Now it’s Monday and I suddenly remembered my lengthy to do list. Oof.

We played tour guide (and tourist) this weekend, but I’ll get to that later. Today I want to talk about a killer lower body workout I did on Saturday morning, that my glutes are still paying for this morning.

So right now,  for resistance training I’m doing a 3-day split. I’ll do an upper, a lower, and then a full body workout each week. After each resistance workout, I’ll usually get in about 20 minutes of cardio. Then, 3 other days on the week, I’ll go to yoga and walk Niko. It’s a nice little balance for me right now!

Here’s the lower body workout that I’m currently doing.

You may also remember the workout clothes I’m wearing above as the Old Navy apparel I tried out in one of my hot yoga classes. Well, although the workout clothes passed the cuteness and dry-wick test factors, I wanted to put them to the ultimate test:

How they held up after being washed and dried.

Honestly, I was a little scared. I mean, I’ve had lululemon even look not so great after a tumble through the dryer ( my fault, for putting it in the dryer in the first place, but seriously.) However, I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome!

One other thing Old Navy challenged me to do, which happened to be JUST the challenge I needed, was to go through some of my old workout clothes.

OK, so the thing about moving into a smaller place: Way. less. closet. space. Guys, I miss my old walk in closet that I had all to myself!

(my old closet that Shane built for me!)

Let me be a bit whiney for a second by saying that sharing a closet is for the birds. I know most everyone has to do it, but it kinda sucks. But, it also let me know I have way too many clothes that I don’t even wear anymore. For some reason I just have an emotional attachment to it. So, this was the perfect time to go through and purge:

These Under Armour pants, they give me swass every time I bust a sweat in them. (Word to the wise: light gray = no bueno for workouts)

And these Rogiani crops. They were my very very very first pricier pair of workout apparel, so I haven’t been able to throw them out. Even though they’re a size too small and I haven’t worn them in a year.

My old ratty race tee shirts that I never wear! I snapped a pic, for sentimental value, and then pitched them. Siyonara!

This is probably going to sound hokey, but it felt really good to let go of that stuff. I feel that STUFF often is a symbol for other crap in life that just gets in the way. I love living fairly minimalistic because it allows me to live with (as much as I can) a clear mind. It helps me keep my priorities in line! Does that make sense?

Moral of the story is that it’s really nice to just let go of things – whether mental, emotional, or physical! – sometimes Open-mouthed smile

On that note. I’m going to let go of this nagging hunger in my stomach and feed the beast! haha

Have a good Monday, my friends.

Do you feel better emotionally after a good house cleaning or “stuff” purging?

Are you more of a minimalist or a pack rat when it comes to stuff?
