I’m a bit late in posting this morning because as soon as I downed my first cup of coffee, I walked over to my voting precinct to get my vote on:
(excuse my no make up/just rolled out of bed look I’ve got goin’ on right now)
It’s weird – I knew who I was voting for the entire year, up until about a week ago. I didn’t even know for certain who I was voting for today until woke up this morning. Then, I knew, and I couldn’t wait to cast my vote. Yay Amurrica!
Now that that’s out of the way (and went quite seamlessly and quickly) let’s chat about a few more trivial ideas.
1. Two favorite new purchases.
I mentioned I went shopping last weekend, but this is what I’m most excited about:
1. Under Armour stocking hat and
2. Merrell hiking boots!
Both are for Colorado, but I think I’m going to rock them back here in Illinois, too. You kn ow…when I’m hiking up the 1% incline between the corn fields and such…
2. Two books I’m reading.
1. Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst:
I loved Unglued so much that I had to read another one of her books. I think I’m actually going to go back and re-read Unglued, because I’ve definitely become unglued since reading it. Or maybe I’ll just go back and read what I highlighted along the way
2. The Lion by Nelson Demille:
Have we talked about this book yet? First I read Plum Island, and then The Lion’s Game, and now finally The Lion. I’d say so far I’m liking it the very best! I’m about half way finished.
3. Two musics I’m listening to.
1. Dance music for when running lately – Skrillex and Avicii to be specific. This really means once a week, because that’s all I’m running anymore!
2. Third Day for when I’m driving:
And they’re new album, Miracle comes out today!
4. Two breakfasts I’ve been eating.
1. Quinoa egg white breakfast cereal:
I was on an oats kick for a while, but am not eating oats right now. Instead, I’ve been having quinoa for breakfast! Here’s how I make it:
Raspberry Egg white Breakfast Quinoa
(makes 2 servings)
1/2 c. quinoa
1 1/4 c. SO Delicious coconut milk
10 drops vanilla stevia
1 tbsp. chia seeds
1/2 c. egg whites
1/2 c. frozen raspberries
almond butter for topping
Pour quinoa and milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the stevia and chia seeds and lower to a simmer. Cook until almost all the liquid is absorbed. Add the egg whites and raspberries and, while stirring, bring to just boiling again, and then back to simmer, stirring frequently until all the liquid is absorbed. Top with almond butter. Or just put it in a near empty almond butter jar
2. Chocolate strawberry )protein shake:
I get on a combo kick with smoothies. This one is SO Delicious coconut milk, Tera’s whey, heaping T of cocoa powder, chia seeds, half a packet of stevia, a handful of spinach, a handful of frozen strawberries, and ice.
5. Two yummy non-food items.
1. Body Shop chocomania lip butter:
Say whaaa? Not only do I now want to eat my lips, but I walk around with a kissy face all day trying to smell my lips. Not the cute kissy face either, but the kind where you turn up your lips toward your nose so you can inhale the choclatey goodness. Ya’ll know what I’m talking about. Don’t pretend ya don’t.
2. Toffee caramel candle from Bath & Body Works:
I actually would be showing you the Hot Toddy Apple Cider one I got, but Shane shattered on the floor as he was putting it away for me on Sunday. Oopsie.
