7 Things that Make Me Feel Good.

Remember the other week when I presented to you the Pumpkin Dessert Omelet for dinner? Well, it happened again, only in a slightly different variety, and this was born from my stove:

The Elvis {Dessert} Omelet

2 eggs + 2 egg whites

1/2 banana, mushed

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. vanilla

1/4 tsp. sea salt

2 tbsp. peanut butter

1/2 banana, sliced

chocolate chips, Greek yogurt for topping – optional

Whisk eggs, banana, cinnamon, vanilla, and sea salt in a bowl. Pour onto a pan over medium heat, sprayed with nonstick spray. Step away for a minute. Down the center, place the banana and peanut butter. Cook for another minute, and then form into an omelet. Top with chocolate chips and Greek yogurt.

I enjoyed this dinnerdessert with a side of toast with avocado, tomato, and sriracha. Odd? Yes. Delicious? Oh yes.

I was actually going to make white chicken chili in the crock pot but then I realized I’ve never made that before and I needed a few extra ingredients. Guesses for tonight’s dinner? Winking smile

You might have been able to tell, but I’ve been dealing with a little crapola lately. It’s fine. I don’t want anyone’s sympathy, and it’s something lots of people deal with. I don’t really want to talk about it right now, but I’m sure I eventually will.

Anyway, last night I was kind of letting it get me down, so after my day’s work, I did the things that I do when I’m feeling anxious/down:

1. Comfort food. See above.

2. Baking. Pumpkin baking, no less Winking smile

Ahhhhh. I cannot wait to share this recipe with you guys!

3. Mug of CALM.

Love my calm drink. I wasn’t feeling tea, and CALM is nice and fruity and flavorful.

4. Then a mug glass of wine:

5. Snuggly PJ’s

6. A good book

7. My snuggle monsters

Ahhh Smile Much better.

Another good thing? Today’s Friday and it got here QUICK! I’m pretty amped about it, too, because after my work day I’m headed out to get a deeeeep tissue massage! I even scheduled my workouts around it so that today would be leg day:

Dumbbell stationary lunges

Barbell squats

Step Ups w/ weights

Hip thrusters

Goblet squats

Hip adductor machine (gotta work on strengthening those glute meds!)

Calf raises on step

Happy Friday ya’ll!

What are the things you do when you’re feeling anxious/down?

Any big plans for the weekend?

My friend’s got a birthday party tomorrow, so we’ll be swinging by that. And of course training clients. Other than that, wide open!

PS – Now go check out my guest post on the lovely Lindsay’s blog on my ideal workout!

  5. That Apothic is my BFFs favorite. It’s inexpensive, but a really nice flavor. I love reading to unwind. Also, running…running is a huge anxiety reliever for me.

  6. When I’m feeling anxious, I clean. I’m like Monica from Friends haha. I definitely bake more often when I’m feeling a little sad. Not to eat the food or anything, but it helps me feel accomplished and reminds me of home when my mom used to bake.

  9. I hope you’re feeling better about things today! Anxiety is something I deal with at times, so it’s something I consistently have to work on. A talk with Cody or my mom does wonders, a back massage, some down time with a good book or TV show, or a good sweat sesh if I’m feeling energetic always helps too.

Or a drink and some reading:) I need to do that more often to de-stress! Or I take a warm bath with some bubbles and candles…talk about relaxation!

  15. I’m sorry you have been dealing with some stuff lately! I have been too, and it stinks. When I’m anxious and stressed, I have no appetite, so I scrubbed my house and cleaned out the fridge. I also sat on the couch and just chilled out. I also try not to exercise too much when I’m really stressed or anxious… don’t want to raise my cortisol levels any more than necessary!!

I hope you are feeling much better today though! I’m a bit jealous of that massage! ;)

  16. Love the dessert omelet! I will be trying that one for sure.

I need a hip adductor machine in my house…that part of my body is a nightmare of weakness.

When I’m anxious or down, I eat! Four years ago, when anxious or down, I didn’t eat. Ten years ago, I did eat. It’s a great cycle! Not!

    Have fun at the party!

  17. Oh love the elvis dessert omelet! Is it not the most amazing thing like, EVER??!!

Have a great weekend girl!! Can’t wait to hear all about it :)
