Two New Goals + Fitmixer Giveaway {Two-fer Tuesday}

How’s everyone’s week going so far? My Monday was pretty low-key, so no complaints there. Yesterday I got in some cardio in the form of an elliptical session and a Niko walk, as well as a back and biceps workout.

And today I plan on doing a little speed work – which is the first time I’ve done that in quite a while. I was actually featured on today for Instagram workouts (along with some other awesome bloggers) for my 3-2-1 RUN! workout, so to celebrate, I did that one today.


Except I didn’t use those shoes. I used these – more to come on that later. Good times!

Today is twofer Tuesday, and I’ve got a few things to chit chat with ya’ll about. And a giveaway to host. So let’s get to it, shall we?

Two Fall Fitness Goals

I’m not a huge goal-setter. I know I’m in the minority when it comes to healthy living bloggers. I rarely take the time to actively think about what goals I would like to accomplish in the future, but instead tend to be so impulsive that when something becomes I problem I want to change, or another positive I want in my life, I immediately put that plan into motion to tackle it.

So when Fitmixer announced this month’s blogger ambassador topic was goal setting, it forced me to do just that. I had to step outside my goal-setting comfort zone, which is a good thing! At first I came up with about 5 small goals that I want to accomplish, but then…that’s not really me. I’d rather set up just a couple big ones, and really focus on them – and succeed!

Goal #1. Complete 10 unassisted pull ups.

Sound familiar? That’s because this is also on my fall bucket list!

Goal #2. Integrate at least 1-2 yoga classes into my weekly workout schedule.

Last week I {impulsively} bought a pass for the {only} yoga studio in town for 3 classes. I have yet to take my first class, but I think I plan on going tomorrow!

Two recent discoveries

Witch hazel


I’m switching up my skin care, and I’ll go more into depth about it in a later post, but I wanted to post about witch hazel because it’s such a simple (and cheap!) discovery! I use it like a toner, after I wash my face and befoer moisturizing.

My Private Jet


For some reason I’m really into painting my nails lately, and I absolutely L-O-V-E this color. It’s a dark, gun metal grey with shimmer.


So pretty for fall.

Two Things I’m Loving About Fall

Fact: as much as I love Lululemon & Under Armour (LOVE) nothing beats a cozy hoody on a brisk fall evening. Am I right or am I right?

I foresee a trip to the candle store coming very soon, much to my husband’s chagrin.

Two Things I’m Looking Forward (to)

Colorado!! Again!

Shane and I pulled the trigger and booked a trip to Colorado Springs in early November. We don’t know where we’re staying yet (any suggestions?) but want ot see the Garden of Gods and Pikes Peak, and do a loooottt of hiking.



Our anniversary, and the reason we’re taking the aforementioned trip to Colorado. Not only am I looking forward to our anniversary, but also going to our favorite restaurant in town, Reality Bites Smile

Two Blog-World Shares

I saw this video on Janetha’s blog this past weekend, and it had me CRACKING up laughing. I am an instagram addict. And this video is hi-larious.

She also posted an iPhone 5 video that’s basically all about taking pictures of food. Again – hilarious.

Then this morning I saw that my girl, Julie, made a protein bread that isn’t cooked in the microwave that I’d like to try.


Now I just need to get some casein protein powder.

  8. I love Colorado!! I’ve only been there once and that wa back in College but I have been dying I make a trip back there!!!

    also it’s so funny you bring up nail polish & yoga – i was thinking about doing yoga once a week during my lunch break! and i’ve been OBSESSED with nail polish lately – my sister buys the season ‘line’s from essie off of amazon for pretty cheap. OH and doing unassisted pullups are my life goal which i will probably never do hahaha i’m so big!!

    So excited for you about going back to visit Colorado! Keeping our fingers crossed that we get to move back soon! If you want a really awesome experience and can afford a little extra on hotel I totally recommend The Broadmoor Hotel. (very pricey but very worth it). I would suggest going to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, beautiful zoo in a really cool part of town! My husband and I’s anniversary is 9/29, good month for an anniverary!

  21. I’m totally doing that workout! I am loving doing running intervals as I’m working on a little speed and I love intervals! My fitness goal this fall is to do my first official 5k and I’m already signed up, so that is happening! I am already loving all things fall now. I dove right into it yesterday!
