Insta-Weekend

Happy weekend! And welcome if you’re new here – thank you for stopping by Smile

After a morning of work that dipped into the early afternoon, it was the weekend. Although I don’t carry around a camera during the weekend anymore, thanks to Instagram, there some moments I deem share-worthy.

Like wearing new pajamas (my favoritest brand PJ’s in the world,) drinking wine, eating sushi, reading Cosmo, and cuddling on a Friday night:

Running on a Saturday morning:

It was my first time running with my Garmin all year, which could indicate that I’m (finally) ready to run a race. That would also be another first for the year.

And yet another? Running with long sleeves:

OK, well maybe not the first of the year – but the first since probably April!

Saturday brunches…

I finally picked up some Kodiak Cakes flapjack mix – and omg, it’s amazing!!! My two flavor options were Buttermilk Honey and Wheat, Oat, & Honey. The latter sounds way healthier, right? Well, after looking at the ingredients, they were *almost* exactly the same – same with the nutritional stats, so I went with the tastier sounding option Smile

Farmer’s Market traipsing:

Cupcake baking:

So this is pretty monumental for me, guys. I’ve never, ever, ever in my life made cupcakes. But recently, I’ve been watching Cupcake Wars, and then my friend the cupcake queen, Courtney posted a link to some of her fabulous cupcakes, and one day last week after work, I headed to a local kitchen/baking shop, gathered all my supplies, picked a recipe, I made the cupcakes above. The frosting didn’t turn out perfectly, but I got Courtney’s seal of approval Winking smile

Saturday afternoon was spent working around the house with Shane, but then in the evening, my BFF, Kim came over for Indian food, ice cream, al fresco drinks, and a movie:

LOVE, love her. Red heart

And then on Sunday, Shane and I declared it a bed day.

A few times a year, we like to stay in our comfy clothes, and confine ourselves to the house, doing nothing but lying around, relaxing, and not leaving the house all day, just watching movies and reading in bed. Call it a mental health day if that suits you better, but I think a Bed Day is required at least every other month.

Some other notable weekend notes:

I purchased 20 containers of Oikos Greek yogurt and 50 (yes, 50) bottles of Vitamin Water Zero in Go-Go and XXX flavor. They’re both a staple of this household, but unfortunately are $1.19 and $1.10, respectively. Well, at Kroger’s, I just so happened to come upon a sale – buy 10 mix and match products, and get $5 off. This made Oikos $.69/each, and the Vitamin Waters $.59/each, which = STOCK the EFF UP time.

The weekend’s not yet over, but I suspect – aside from a bed day – it will include a Niko walk and finishing this book. And breakfast. I’ve been awake for two hours, but am being very indecisive about breakfast today. I hate that! When everything sounds sorta good but nothing sounds spectacular?

Anyway, I hope you had a great weekend, my friends! Open-mouthed smile

  8. hahaha, what is XXX flavor? I want that one! I’m like you – I buy those waters when they’re on sale. Regular prices it’s just expensive flavored water. I usually make pancakes on Sunday for my boys. Or Dutch Baby pancakes. Have you tried those? And I’m not a cupcake person, but you seem to have done a wonderful job. Fun weekend for you.
