Is it seriously already Sunday?! I’m sitting here, kicking back watching some old New Jersey Housewives, and am amazed at how quickly the past 48 hours passed by. Let’s talk about it before it’s Insta-Monday!
On Friday night, Shane and I headed out to our favorite restaurant here in town, Reality Bites to celebrate our 4 year anniversary
Quick side note: when Shane and I first moved in together, we were a lot less financially smart than we are now, so we would go out to nice restaurants every single weekend and get wine, appetizers, entrees, desserts – the works. It’s crazy to think back about now. Now we only go to really nice places on special occasions, and when we do, we go ALL out. Such as we did on Friday. Want to know everything that was consumed/shared on our outting?
- brie/bread/fruit plate
- 1.5 bottles of red
- crab cakes
- bacon wrapped dates
- carnitas tacos
- cheese cake
…yeah, haha. Remember that 80/20 thang I mentioned the other day? This is that 20 part of it
We stopped one more place for an after dinner drink, and then cabbed it home. Don’t drink and drive, friends!
Saturday Shane, Niko, and I hit up the farmer’s market to pick up our CSA and do a little shopping. Among our goods, we picked up a whole chicken, potatoes, and carrots, which is now in the crock pot, along with a can of beer and some seasonings for dinner tonight:
After some cleaning, I met up with a bestie to do coffee (Starbucks soy latte) and shopping. I picked up a couple pair of jeans (one for me and one for Shane) and had a five minute affair with this coat:
I LOVE it. Want.
The rest of the day involved lounging on the couch with my man until our tummies started grumbling. Dinner at home, dessert out:
Let me just put it out there that Emack and Bolios is one of my favorite ice cream places out there.
And today’s been pretty chill – when I woke up, I amino’d up and then went for a 5 mile run outside:
Not too excited here – this was pre-run. But the run was great! Sunny and 47
OH! And I have to tell you about this:
On Saturday I chopped about 10 small apples, and threw ‘em in the crock pot with some cinnamon, brown sugar, and a little organic butter and set it on low for ~4ish hours. The result was sweet, soft, caramelized apples that are out-of-this-world good.
So for this morning’s breakfast, I put 1/4 c. of them in my oats, mushed, and then topped them with another 1/4 cup.
Plus a little Greek yogurt + pb.
Then trained an in-home client, and came home to a morning snack:
Pumpkin pie smoothie with a handful of fall trail mix. Yummmmy.
Now I think Shane and I are going to watch church (online) and then relax some more. Good Sunday!
What was the best part of your weekend?
