Meal Survey

Gooooood morning to ya! Happy Friday, friends Open-mouthed smile

Excuse me, I’m a bit all over the place this morning. It’s going to be one busy day. Combine that with a sleepless night’s sleep (I was tossing and turning every hour!) and an early wakeup call (boot camp, whaaat) and like I said – I’m a bit all over the place.

Thusly, it’s a perfect day to do a fun lil’ survey I saw over at my girl Lisa’s blog (who saw it first on Sara’s lovely blog) for this fabulous Friday. Oh! Did I mention I’m heading to Chicago to stand in my BFF’s wedding this weekend, too? Basically taking off ASAP to there today. Craziness!

So. Enough with the small talk. Let’s get to it!

1. Favorite cereal as a child?

Oreo-O’s, hands down.

They don’t even make these anymore do they? It’s a shame. Not only would I have a bowl for breakfast, but I would also have a bowl on nights when I have volleyball games when I got home.

2. Coffee or Tea? With milk or without?

Coffee – with organic half and half. No other way!

3. The one food you eat most often at breakfast?

Hmm. Probably bananas? Whether I have oats, pancakes, or a wrap, bananas are almost always included in some form.

Lunch Questions!

1. Sandwiches are generally considered a “lunch food.” If you had to choose between a grilled cheese and a peanut butter and jelly, which would you pick?

Easy. Peanut butter jelly time!

That’s a lotta peanut butta.

2. You can only put four ingredients in your salad (not including greens); what do you throw in the mix? Additionally, which greens and dressing do you pick?

What do you mean only four? I’d say, some kind of protein (chicken, probably?) some cheese (goat or feta,) slivered almonds, and cranberries. Oh crap – and dressing.

3. One food you can’t live without at lunch?

Surprisingly, some kind of animal protein – either eggs or meat (usually chicken or turkey.)

Dinner Questions!

1. It’s the end of the day. You’re tired, hungry, and your fridge is empty. If a fast food (from a chain) is your only option, where do you go and what do you order?

Chipotle!!! Which is actually what I had for dinner last night, and ordered the carnitas salad bowl, with lettuce, carnitas, black beans, brown rice, guac, salsa, and all that good stuff.

2. TV/computer on or off while you’re eating?

Dinner? Off, usually. Shane and I usually park it at the kitchen table for dinner.

3. The one food you eat most often at dinner?

Oh wow. No idea. One food? No clue. One meal? Chili or tacos is probably one of the most popular meals in the rotation.

Dessert Questions!

Choose between these two American desserts: cheesecake or apple pie?

Tough one, but I’d have to go with apple pie.

With ice cream, of course.

Choose between these two foreign desserts: tiramisu (Italy) or flan (Spain)?

Neither? I’ve actually never had flan, so we’ll go with tiramisu.

Ice cream: cone or cup?

Cup! Unless it’s one of those cones that’s basically a candy bar Winking smile

That was fun Open-mouthed smile

Your turn:

Favorite cereal as a child?

Cheesecake or apple pie?

  10. Totally forgot about Oreo-O’s… LOVED them. But let’s be serious- that was candy in a box.

As for apple pie or cheesecake… I’m gonna have to go with cheesecake. Not a huge fan, but I don’t mind it as long as a little chocolate sauce is involved… 😉

    • I think my favourite is “The only guy you need in your life is the one that poervs he needs you in his”. Most people do need to be needed on some level or another, male or female. I know that I could never settle for someone who could take me or leave me. It also ties in nicely with something I’ve always believed about relationships; you shouldn’t assume that your partner knows how you feel. For both of you, proving that you need your partner in your life involves proving that you’re worthy of that place in theirs. The thing is, they probably do know that they’re loved. In a strictly logical sense, they know that you love them. But humans are built on more than just logic. If we weren’t, we’d be Vulcans. (e according to Vulcans, imagine that…) Love can’t just be spoken or assumed, it needs to be shown. Humans need to feel that they’re loved even if they know that they’re loved. And this doesn’t have to be a gigantic bunch of flowers once a month, it’s in things such as surprising them with their favourite meal. Remembering something that has been worrying them and calling to see how things went. Asking what they need from you if it went badly. Just tiny little things like that aren’t just statements that might or might not be true. They’re proof that can be seen and felt, proof that you love your partner.

  13. I loved the marshmallow in lucky charms.

I also loved Cheerios and Crispix :)

  15. Glad you did the survey! I just love doing them.
Its so weird how much my food tastes have changed! When I was younger, I hated absolutely every veggie and fruit. The only way I’d eat carrots is if I poured salt all over them. I was odd.

Childhood cereal: Count Chocula!! I only got it once in awhile, so it was a super fun treat!
    Cheesecake IF it’s a flavored one from Cheesecake Factory. Otherwise, apple pie IF it’s homemade {I’m really picky, aren’t I??}

  17. When I was a kid my mom would make oatmeal, using milk, brown sugar, maple syrup, and blend it so that it was really smooth and creamy. I think she’d throw an egg in there too. Basically dessert for breakfast but I loved it.

And cheesecake (though these days it has to be vegan). I’m a graham cracker crust fanatic.

  20. Oreo O’s!? I’ve never heard of those before!!!!!!!!!!

  21. My fave childhood cereal was Rice Krispies with sugar. Actually, it was probably Cookie Crisp, but my parents never bought it!

I’d definitely go with cheesecake. I don’t love pie crust or warm fruit, so apple pie is not my thing!
