Get Outta My Way! Workout + My Bar Problem

How about another boot camp workout first to kick start your weekend?

In the boot camp class I’m teaching at the gym right now, Wednesday’s theme was obstacles. (Apparently spelling is one of my obstacles, because it just took me FOUR tries to spell obstacles there. Oy.) But before we get into the obstacle workout, let’s talk life obstacles. They come in many shapes and forms and each come with a certain impact to our lives. However, WE are the only ones who can determine the impact that they play.

We are also the only ones that can determine the role these obstacles play in our life. Basically, we have a couple options for obstacles: overlook them or overcome them – and both options are fine for different situations. Shane and I ran into an obstacle that we really don’t have power of changing it right now. So, we’re focusing on some other things in life right now. Then there’s also time to kick those obstacles right in the you-know-where and overcome them. Tell them to GET OUTTA MY WAY!

This workout requires some kind of sturdy surface. I’m using a bench, but you can use a sturdy chair, a step, stairs, a BOSU – any raised, sturdy (preferable flat) surface will do. Like Monday’s workout, this boot camp workout is only 30 minutes long, but I promise that’s all you’ll need!

GET OUTTA MY WAY! Obstacle Workout

6 obstacles, 3 rounds each

10 bench jumps—>hop over bench—>10 dips

10 step ups —> hop over bench—>10 bench burpees

10 bench jumps –> hop over bench –> 10 bench push ups

10 bench bench jumps—>hop over bench—>5 single leg squats each side

10 step ups—>hop over bench—>10 decline push ups

10 bench jumps—>hop over bench—>10 incline reptile planks each side

REST for 2 minutes and repeat 2 MORE TIMES!

WOOO!

Designer Whey Protein PB Crunch and NuGo Chocolate Pretzel with sea salt. My bar problem? I found these bars in the bottom of one of my “bar bags” <—anyone else have those? And found out I love them! I went out to Kroger and the Vitamon Shoppe to buy out the store, with no success, sadly. Although their store locators on the websites said they carried them, the stores must just not be big enough in my town. But I Must. find them. Their SO GOOD. I think it has to do with the real dark chocolate coating – and the sea salt for the NuGo – that makes them especially delicious. Anyone know where I can find them? Of course I discovered I loved them after I went to WF last weekend, so if you say Whole Foods, unless you plan on shipping it me (yes?) as a care package then I don’t wanna hear it.Thinking smile Winking smile

I’ll probably resort to ordering them, but I kinda want them rightnowthissecond. For now I’ll just grab my Cherry Pie larabar and head out to train some clients Smile

Happy Friday, everyone! Any fun plans? I have to work tomorrow, but will be going out on the town with some girlfriends tonight! Should be fuuun. Before that excitement, though, I have an appointment this morning that I’m a little nervous about. Send me some good vibes?

    I’ve got a bar drawer at work. It’s full of every random kind of granola bar. My favorite will always be of the Clif variety. Luckily, I got a few to stash from the 5k I did last night. :)

  10. I’m always on the lookout of a new bar. I love how the Designer Whey only has 160 calories. The last bar I tried were Journey bars (they make savory flavors like Coconut Curry or Hickory BBQ). So far, not a fan :(
