Wow! Did this week speed on by for anyone else? I can’t believe it’s already Friday – and I don’t even have a speculation as to why it slipped right past me for some reason this week.
Not that I’m complaining ![]()
These past couple weeks I’ve been finding (and loving) quite a few new favorite products – some of which I’ve already shared on the blog (and on Instagram, of course.) Today I thought I’d post about some of my new fitness and foodie favorites out there. A what I’m loving post, if you will.
Valslides
![]()
Sure, paper plates might make an OK substitution, but the real deal are a little more fun (plus more safe and effective.) I’ve been using these for boot camp this week, and I’ve already got ideas for a workout video for Move it Monday. They’re so fun!
Flat Out! Wraps
![]()
These are by no means new, but they are my wrap of choice lately, and I just love them. I’ve been using the sun dried tomato ones for turkey and tuna salad wraps, and the regular for sweeter wraps like banana + peanut butter, or an easy pizza, like I did last night:
Super simple. With a side of kale chips baked in the oven with EVOO, sea salt, and Mrs. Dash garlic & herb seasoning – and parm.
Newmann’s Own Organic Popcorn
![]()
I’ve been snacking on this as an afternoon snack, and moreso during movie nights or TV time downstairs in the theatre. I went for the full butter flavor (they have a light) because it was only about 20 more cals/serving and like, 5, of fat cals than the light. Plus, I probably would have anyway. Read those labels!
Pull Up Bands
![]()
I also purchased this band recently to use in client sessions – and to use myself. Admittedly, I suck at pull ups. Hopefully this will help me get a head start on my way to at last 5 of them in a row
Bars
Just showing these kind, because I’ve already waxed poetically about my beloved NuGo bars enough this week. So good, and all natural!
BRIGHT, IN YOUR FACE Workout Clothes
As a self-proclaimed black bottoms-only wearer, one should note that I bought these purple crops directly after visiting a wine tasting
But I wore them today. Sober. Still love em!
Peppas!
One of the regulars at the gym grows tons of organic veggies, and the other day he brought me in a grocery bag FILLED with all kinds of peppers. I’ve been including them in omelets, pizzas, and, well, everything for dinner this week. I love me some spice ![]()
Pureology
![]()
My hair’s new BFF4L’s. This stuff is amazing. My hair’s never been happier! It’s been getting tons of compliments lately – ever since I switched over to Pureology after doing some research. Apparently my hair hates sulfates. So do the people who make this stuff, so it works. And if you’re thinking shampoo doesn’t fit into this post, it’s food for my hair, so there!
Happy Friday, loves ![]()
What are some of your favorites from the week?

Love the pull up band! it is really helpful and helped me get pull ups! I do volume training and do 2-3 on the minute every minute for 10 minutes 3X a week! It really works! I am terrible at pull ups too

It’s PERFECTLY fine to continue to poetically speak of those amazing NuGo bars…I love them so much too!

i have the curl creme in the pureology line – it’s the best I’ve found!! And it smells amazing too!
Ooh, good to know. I’ve yet to find an HG for curl products!
I eat something on a flatout wrap almost daily – my favorite is pb and banana!
I haven’t tried pureology yet but I’m going to see where I can buy it locally!

Ulta and Beauty Brands sells it!
Hi Paige

I just found your blog and have been reading away for almost an hour! I just wanted to say I find you really inspirational! You’re pretty much where I want to be in a few years, I’m studying to become a Nutritionist and after that I’ll start studying Personal Training too. Keep on doing what you love!
And have an awesome Friday

Thank you so much for reading, Jade! Good for you for going after your goals
I love kale chips, the boyfriend doesn’t get it and thinks I am weird! I have seriously been hating my hair lately and it is probably because my shampoo of choice is the 89 cent stuff, I should man up and buy the good stuff!

Shane doesn’t get them either
He won’t touch ‘em with a 10 foot pole! More for me
Yum, love kale chips!! And bright workout clothes.
Right now, I’m digging all things pumpkin – bring on the fall weather and clothes!!

I’ve seen the flat outs- are they easier to use than wraps? They look like they’d be easier to keep together…
Amy @ Second City Randomness recently posted..A Different Approach
I’m not sure if they’re any easier – maybe a little bit. Definitely tastier though
Love flatouts for pizza and wraps. So yummy. Also good for cutting up, crisping and using for dipping with hummus. And kale…..I have some in the fridge to cook up this weekend. Hope you have a great weekend!
Okay, I LOVE peppahs!
Tuna wrap looks incredible!!! Mmm Mmm!

I LOVE flatout wraps!! They are my favorite lately – been completely OBSESSED with wraps for lunch!
PS I have purple crops too, similar to those– and now I want the lilac colored ones I spotted at Lululemon the other day. I MUST have them haha

UGH. I went on the lulu website today. Filled up my cart with wunder under crops, a couple of the tanks with the sports bra built in and showing…and then promptly clicked the x
sigh
i really liked those Flat Out wraps when I first bought ‘em but got sick of em super fast!! maybe I just need to change up what i’m filling them with. I thought about making one with peanut butter and a banana today but ended up just grabbing a chicken breast for lunch instead.
those kale chips look good! I need to make some more of those. I think it’s been year since i’ve had them last.

I love the bright workout clothes.

Also, I’m convinced we dont have those wraps in Canada. I’ve never been able to find them anywhere.

That’s a shame! They’re so yummy. I like La Tortilla Factory, too…but those are, well, more tortilla-like
So glad to hear you love the pureology! I am about to switch over. My hair is so crazy and unruly… it needs a little extra TLC.

Mmm… Flat Outs are so soft and tasty! I need to put them on my list : ).
Until I started CrossFit recently, I had never used a band to do a pull-up, instead using the pull-up machine. I love using the bands- they’re SO easy to rig up and very easy to change the amount of resistance. Score!

I love those flat out wraps and that whole dinner looks amazing!

I need to try those Flat Out wraps! I’ve seen them pop up on a few blogs, but I never see them in my local stores!

I get mine at Kroger. Schnuck’s sells them too (not sure if they have those by you?)
I’m usually a black-bottoms girl for my workout clothes…but I did pick up a purple pair of workout capris a while back and I love them. Definitely fun to mix it up once in a while!

OMG i just saw those bars at this new marketplace foodstore that opened near me! i thought of you IMMEDIATELY – they have tons of boxes – if you ever need any let me know girl i can ship them to you! xox
Ahhh! Jealous! I found them pretty cheap on allstarhealth.com, luckily. Also on drugstore.com they have em
I love bright workout clothes. I just bought new capris from the Calvin Klein performance line at Boston Store. They actually feel really similar to Lululemon.

Those sound fabulous!
I’ve never thought much about shampoo but I am wondering if it would make a big difference. Have you switched up a lot and found major differences? I just hate thinking about it!
I switch my shampoos a lot – but the Pureology Hydrate line + some Argan oil (the brand from Sally’s) has made the biggest difference in my hair! My hair doesn’t work well with products containing sulfates.
I’ve had a box of that popcorn in my cupboard for over 2 months now and have yet to open it! I’m not sure what’s taking me so long, but after seeing it on here.. I’m thinking maybe it’s time to eat some haha
Have a wonderful weekend!

Mmmm, I would love a bag of organic peppers like that! Lately I’ve been really noticing the difference between organic veggies and nonorganic ones– the Publix peppers in my fridge taste like water!
Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance recently posted..A Dinner With The Newlyweds
I followed your link to Pureology…they carry it in Morton. Gotta try it!
those peppers look gorgeous! Red bell peppers are one of my favorite veggies….unfortunately my local kroger sells the 1.94….each. I still buy them but gah….so expensive! I forgot about flatouts! I haven’t had one in awhile….I’ll have to put them on my shopping list

Those Kale chips looked delish.. I usually make mine with some chipotle powder, chili powder, garlic and cumin.. I have a hard time getting any because my son eats them ALL!! I wanna get one of those big bands.. I would like to do some pullups but also it would work for attaching to something and putting it around your waist then all out running sprints.. if that makes sense. I saw it on a workout video and thought it was a good idea. LOL..
