My Favorite Things

Gooood morning! How are we all doing today?

Yesterday after getting off of work, I headed straight to the salon to get my ends trimmed off:

No big changes, just a trim. I’m actually trying to grow out my natural color, which is more of a golden/strawberry blonde. Right now I kind of have the ombre trend going on. Who needs a colorist when you can just grow your hair out? I figure the sun highlights it enough in the summer, so I’ll be good.

Once I was out of there, I came home to greet my parents. They were in town, so they stopped over to have some dinner and drinks outside on the patio:

Dinner was really simple – we picked up Pot Belly’s, and I set out potato salad, chips, and salad, and everyone dug in!

Mmm mm!

I love family timeSmile I even convinced Shane to let Clarabelle stay out with us!

Whenever I’m out alone, I always let her out – much to Shane’s chagrin. Looks like he’s finally cave. They always cave Winking smile

Such a fun evening Open-mouthed smile However, part of that family time involved my mom and I sharing a bottle of chardonnay, so this morning I’m draggin’ a bit…

Luckily, I have a rather leisurely morning this morning. Since I’m in no rush to get to work, after sipping some coffee (and Emergen-C…feel like I could be coming down with something which canNOT happen right now!) I meandered upstairs to try a new-to-me workout DVD.

After doing Jillian’s Yoga Meltdown on Tuesday, I felt like doing another video this morning. Today’s was Core Fusion Sculpt. I’ve been wanting to try out the Core Fusion DVDs for probably two or so years now, and this morning I finally did just that. There are five 10-minute workouts, and today I only did legs and abs. After I complete them all, I’ll be sure to post a review Smile

After getting my sculpt (one of those buzz words that really means “build muscle”) on, I came back to a breakfast I haven’t eaten in quite a while:

Oatmeal! I cooked about a half of a cup with some almond milk and an overripe banana, stirred in some honey, and topped with peanut butter and homemade Greek yogurt.

Hit the spot!

And now I’m about to take you-know-who for a you-know-what Winking smile

Have a great day, guys!

During the summer/nice weather: do you prefer to “dine al fresco?”

I LOOOOVE eating outside when it’s nice out. One of my favorite things.

  11. Hi Julie, I have a question (it is personal, So DO NOT respond if it it way too personal), but any experience with birth control?
I am 31 years old and my hormones are gone wacky for a long long time now. I’ve neglected it for too too long (decades) and now I think I might need to take birth control or something to straighten them out.
I am showing all signs of high testosterone and low estrogen :( No one else in my family has a “mustache” and suddenlY I have one :( So embarrassed, I know some girls have them, but its usually in their families too…but not me. Plus I’m having hot flashes and things are haywire. I’m not sure, does birth control lower testosterone too? I’m still waiting to see results from my lab work. Because if I take the birth control to increase the estrogen, I still worry that the testosterone will be way to high and I’ll get worse mustache.
I’m HOPING the birth control will REVERSE the mustache…I hope…
But I worry about acne and weight gain…do you have any experiences with birth control? Or can you mention to me bloggers that do (that are positive stories hopefully).
I SO want to fix this naturally (with a naturopath), but I just do not have that kind of money…so I hope I don’t mess up my 31 year old body too much with pills causing more weight gain and stuff. Ugh. I’m so sad right now. Thanks for ANY ideas on this. I’m hoping for some positive stuff or whatever (mustache reversal)…but anyway, thanks.
