Kitchen Cabinet Organization – Before and After

What a deliciously lazy Sunday!

IMG_7955

My favorite thing: reading on the couch in the sunshine with a cup of coffee (or tea. or wine – just not in the morning Winking smile) Add to it, sleeping in an hour (which is still only 7:15 for me…lol) and a full belly, and I’d call it a pretty perfect morning.

How’s everyone’s weekends going so far? As I have been lately, I took a break from snapping pictures and just lived life. Friday Shane and I went out for Mexican and margaritas, yesterday I trained a little, shopped a LOT (food, home, and clothes shopping,) and then went out for dinner and drinks with another couple to one of our favorite restaurants in town for tapas and cocktails. So far, it’s been a great one Smile

Before and After Pictures

OK, I lied. I did snap a couple photos. If you noticed, I also went shopping for the home…any guesses as to what for? Fine I’ll tell you. I went here:

Remember when I told you about my “problem areas”  – in the kitchen? Well, messy, junky cabinets no more…

Before I went out and bought storage, I first got some inspiration on pinterest. Then, I measured – each side’s length, the depth, and the height top to bottom, and between each selves. Then, I got supplies.

I purchased a couple cabinet organizers at Bed Bath and Beyond (I had three 20% off’s!)

  • two pull out baskets (only used one)
  • One slotted rack holder (need another one)
  • One corner stacking shelf

I am SO pleased with how they turned out.

Hopefully it will make me dread putting away pots and pans a little bit less Winking smile

Breakfast

This morning – after lazing around on the couch – I took Niko for a long walk in a nearby park. We went on a trail that happens to go through ISU’s campus for about a half mile, and I cracked up laughing as we walked past a string of nice apartments, and then came to this in the front yard of one of them:

Nothing like a beer bong at 9 in the morning! I giggled and kept on walking. I live in the town of my alma mater (I moved here for school and ended up staying!) and I just love driving through campus sometimes. Seeing college students playing bags and drinking out of red solo cups in the front yard makes me so nostalgic! haha

Anyway, once we finished our walk, I then came home to make the breakfast I’d been promising Shane since yesterday.

Cheesy eggs with zucchini and spinach, maple chicken sausage, and pancakes.

Since I was on a waffle kick for so long, it’s been quite a long time since I’ve made pancakes.

They were delicious! And the iced green tea to wash it down was fabulous, too.

As I was finishing my second piece of sausage, I couldn’t stop a thought from popping in my head. It said, wow, Paige. This is a breakfast you’d eat after a long, 7+ mile run during half marathon training, not after an hour dog walk. I felt a pang of guilt for eating so much, but then I quickly sushed the negativity. It’s Sunday morning, and hey, that meal was a bonafied brunch. I’m sure it will keep me full all day long Smile

Not sure what today will entail, but I know I’ve got some floors to clean and dirty clothes to wash. As I ever do on Sundays…

Have a great day, loves!

  1. girl you look so peaceful on that couch! :D congrats for that big task of organizing! something I wouldn’t want to do! Doesn’t it feel good to get it all done!?

  2. Your cupboards look great now! Nice and organized! I love lazy Sunday’s. Haha, I can relate to “sleeping in”, I got up at 7:10 and was pumped I slept in that much. Great for brushing off those negative feelings, we shouldn’t wallow in those awful thoughts that bring no joy into our lives. My favourite Sunday breakfast is definitely pancakes!

  3. Good for you for correcting that negative self talk!! One smart (organized) girl!

  4. We love Sunday brunch! It is made every Sunday almost. I like pancakes the best, my husband like waffles the best so those make many appearances for brunches!

  5. Wow your cabinets look great! I have to do something like that soon too, my tupperware cabinet especially is a disaster. BB&B is great with those 20% off coupons, and they even accept expired ones which I love. I brought in one once that was about a year old and they took it no problem. Love it!

  6. That chair looks SOOOO comfortable!!! :) :) Can you come do my cabinets next?
