Remember the Tempo

Good morning!

Today’s one of those days where I don’t have to be up at any certain time (well, before 7 at least) and I woke up at 5:15 this morning just staring at the ceiling and willing myself to sleep. After lying there unable to emerge from the comfy bed for a good hour, I finally peeled myself from the sheets.

Might as well start the day if I’m awake anyway! I have a feeling I’ll be experiencing a mid afternoon slump…I’ll let you know how that prediction turns out Winking smile My early morning wake up combined with some late night reading isn’t a good recipe for a restful day…


But it is a good recipe for starting a delicious new book! Yesterday I finished The Paris Wife, which I couldn’t put down, and started Fifty Shades of Grey, which I think will lead to the same condition. I’ll let you guys know how it goes!

Although it probably won’t help my sleepiness, I’m also planning on getting in a treadmill workout after pressing publish on this post. I might regret it come 3:00 when I’m zonked, but I have a couple reasons for wanting to get in an intense run this morning:

A) I have the time. I can rarely say I have plenty of time.

B) I really want to do a tempo run. I randomly clicked on this post yesterday, and it reminded me of how much I used to love them. Here’s the one I’m planning on doing:


C) I really want to use my new BCAA mix that was delivered yesterday!


Remember how I threw my other amino acid powder in the garbage after discovering it contained this ingredient? Well, the new one I ordered from iHerb (with a $5 discount!) arrived, and I haven’t tasted it yet, but so far, so good.

For one thing, the powder is white – not blue raspberry colored:


yay for no artificial coloring!

and b) there’s none of that scary potentially carcinogenic crap in it. The only thing is, is that it’s 35 calories per serving (I only do half a serving though) and the other was like zero. But really, 35 calories? OH WELL. Right? Apparently I can’t read before drinking coffee. As a couple of you pointed out, it has 35 servings, not 35 calories. Oops!




On that note, I’m off to tempo it up before starting my day Smile Another l-o-n-g one for me, but then I get a 4-day weekend! Woop woop!

  5. I am book obsessed right now! I am reading the Gossip Girl series but have 7 other books in que… haha, and the Fifty Shades of Grey series is on that list. Now to find all the spare time to hunker down and get reading!

  7. I’m finishing up the last of the Dragon Tattoo books. I’ve been trying to put 50 Shades of Grey on hold at the library, but it seems to not even be something they have yet! What gives?

  10. Actually I had read that Xtend has some calories as well but they are not required to put it on the label. I think I remember it being around the same amount as the one you have now. So you probably aren’t losing anything with making the switch! I’m excited to see what you think of this one!

  11. I just started this book the other day and cannot put it down! Stayed up way too late reading it and I kind of feel like a dirty ol’ woman! It’s a great read though!

  13. I still have to try BCAA, I have heard awesome things about it. Let us know how you like the new powder! I have been hearing so much about 50 shades of grey too, but one of my friends said it wasn’t her favourite. i guess I have to read it to determine that one for myself! Have a good day.

  14. I can’t wait to read 50 Shades of Grey!! I have put reading for pleasure on the back burner until I get my ACE certification. That book is on top of my reading list though…I’ve heard so many good things about it!
