Birthday day is swimming right along! 
Funny story – since last Tuesday, I’ve been celebrating my birthday week. And every morning, I wake up to Shane saying “HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEEK!!” Well, yesterday after he said it for the 6th time, I told him that if I was getting sick of hearing that he HAD to be tired of saying it. We were both happy this morning when it could just be “happy birthday” haha
Birthday Lunch
Same ol’ same ol’. Since I only work a half day at the BIC, I don’t technically get a lunch break, so lunch is always eaten at my desk. Today’s desklunch included another tuna salad wrap (this time with just mayo, Greek yogurt, and relish plus tomatoes) an apple, and some veggies and hummus.
It might be the “same ol’” but it sure is tasty!
And from the smell of tuna salad to the smell of something much better…
Sniff it Out
Guys, I think I have a problem. Remember a little while back when I told you about my new obsession? Well, it’s getting a little out of hand…
I just can’t help it! I discovered the Body Shop and there’s no going back. My all-time favorite has to be the chocolate body scrub:
It’s the next best thing to bathing in actual chocolate. But there is cocoa powder in it, so technically… Yeah, it’s like a dream come true, right? 
I got one of these scrubs for my birthday – and aside from smelling freaking amazing, look at one of the ingredients:
Primrose!!! Hunger Games fans, you know where it’s at, right? I got a little over excited, and may have caught the side eye from Shane. Haha
I’m a little fanatical about scents in general, actually. For me, the power of scent can snap me out of reality and bring me right back to a certain event or time in my life or a certain memory. Just from a little whiff of a fragrance.
For our wedding gifts, Shane and I actually gave each other a bottle of perfume/cologne to wear on our wedding day, so we could wear it every now and then and remember that day more holistically.
I’m also a weirdo and designate a certain fragrance for any trip we take. Ulta’s Passionberry Vanilla will always take me right back to the shores of Punta Cana in Dominican Republic 
That lotion soothed many a sunburn that week, that’s for sure! Am I the only weirdo who does this? Probably…
OK, enough smelling the roses. Back to reality.
Have a good rest of your Tuesday! I am actually extremely excited for the rest of mine. Did you guys catch that lunch was a little meager than usual? No snack today, because I’m not training any clients tonight. Instead, I’m going home to do something very exciting. I’m crazy pumped, and I’ll make sure to tell you guys ALL about it when I can though, promise! All I can say is that I’ll have to use some of my skills from one of my previous professions

I am not a big perfume, fragrance wearer, but I do love scented candles. Lilac is my all-time favorite scent (I also love the color too). For perfume I typically go with something shuttle and simple. I like all Ralph Lauren fragrances.

So weird, i alwasy associate certain scents with vacations/certain places too!

Just a whiff of baby powder brings me back to my middle school years when I sprayed on the Baby Soft perfume like it was going out of style : )

I love the idea of having a different scent for each vacation! Our olfactory memories are very powerful, and closely tied to taste. This makes total sense that you do this, being the foodie that you are!
Which accent will you choose for your Colorado trip? I’m totally going to try this on my next vacation
I do use perfume everyday when I go out, like to work, the mall, coffee, just not when I go to the gym that wouldn’t be very nice to others I don’t believe! Enjoy the rest of your birthday night!
