My Drugstore Skin Care Routine

As I opened my lunch box this afternoon, I realized it was the first time I’ve taken a salad for lunch all week! That’s not typical behavior.

On top of a bed of spinach, I went with chopped avocado, 3 sliced HB eggs, cauliflower florets, and some goat cheese. Then I drizzled it all with a tbsp. or two of olive oil.

Snacks for the day:

Larabar, trail mix, and a Vitacake. Not an exciting lunch, but it’ll get me through the day I ‘spose Smile I’m planning on doing a leg workout before training a client this afternoon, so I’ll probably have half the larabar before and half after.

So this morning I filmed a little video for you guys…

Drugstore Skincare Routine

A long while ago, several of you mentioned you’d be interested in hearing about my skincare routine. Well I finally got around to it, and thought it’d be fun to do a video on it!

Here it goes! All or most of my products come from the drugstore, which I’ll also list below if you don’t care to hear me blab.

AM Routine:

  1. Wash with Purpose cleanser
  2. Vitamin C w/ Sally’s Beyond Belief Vita-C or La Rosche Posay
  3. Moisturizer w/ SPF – La Rosche Posay

PM Routine:

  1. Wash with Purpose cleanser
  2. AHA every other night with Alpha Hydrox Souffle or Peter Thomas Roth Peel Pads
  3. Moisturize with CeraVe’s PM Moisturizer or daily moisturizer

That’s it! Open-mouthed smile I think the most crucial step in my routine is most definitely the SPF. Well, aside from actually washing the makeup off of my face every night. If I don’t do this, then I’ve secured at least the spot for one zit on my face.

Have a great Wednesday afternoon, my peeps!

What’s the most crucial step in your skincare routine?

  1. I love finding out what other people use on their skin. I have SUCH a hard time finding stuff that doesn’t make me break out. Funnily enough, the more expensive brands usually cause me more problems than drug store stuff.

  2. My skin is soo picky. It is dry and with our cold winters its really bad in the winter, then when I moisturize it clogs my pores and I get mini break outs. Such a silly cycle!

  3. I’ve recently switched over to “expensive stuff,” and honestly, it has already made such a difference in my skin. I think the most important steps are washing everything off and moisturizing.

  4. lately i’ve been obsessed with clinique skincare line! especially their cleansing face wash and their day cream! but i’m also in love with almay’s tinted moisturizer and cover girl natural mascara!

  5. btw TOTALLY obsessed with your almond meal protein bars! can’t wait to makeee

  6. What is that Vitacake and where did you get it? I’ve only seen the muffins and brownies.

  7. My most crucial step is that I absolutely wash my face every night before I go to bed. Moisturizing is key for me too! I have pretty dry skin, so if I don’t put that moisture back in I am a lot more susceptible to blemishes.

  8. Is a vitacake the same as a vitatop? I’ve seen these in the blog world and want to try them. Do they sell them at the regular grocery stores or just at specialty health food stores?

  9. I must wash my face. I’ve been blessed with my own personal oil factory. Yaaaaaayyyy. Despite it being oily, I must have a good moisturizer. My favorites have also been drug store brands; Roc and Oil of Olay Regenerist. Both made my skin soft and even and less greasy and less prone to breakouts. I had to stop using the Roc because I kept getting chunks of eyelid skin coming off (OUCH!) when I got it waxed and I think it was from the retinol.

  10. I trained legs a few days ago and I’m still sore lol. Hope ur workout went well. I think the most important step in my skincare is washing my face when i get up in the morning and never going to bed with make-up on.

  11. Hello this is kinda of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors
or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
