Missed Shots

"I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

– Michael Jordan

When I was little, I was a huge Chicago Bulls fan. HUGE. I talked about it briefly here. Well, this season I decided I’d start paying attention again. Come to find out? I’m still a huge Bulls fan.

Just to be different, I proclaimed Kerr and Pippen as my favorites and immediately went out and bought their jerseys. But realistically, Michael Jordan was the man of my heart. image

Even now I still admire him. In fact,  I fully credit the quote above to some very trying times of persistency in my life. Talk about perspective! That quote, and the fact that he didn’t even make his high school basketball team alone helps me to not be a quitter.

Last night I watched the game against the Buck with Shane, and they won 107-100. And I Red heart D Rose.

Still, there will never ever ever ever be a team like the Chicago Bulls between the years of 1992 and 1996.

While Shane and I watched the game, we feasted on burgers and fries.

Shane was actually in Chicago the majority of the week on a business trip and just got back last night, so I wanted to welcome him home with one of his favorite meals.

Burgers, baked fries, ‘n beans

This morning I woke up in time to sneak in 45 minutes of an hour spin class before training a client. And now I’m about to make a big brunch for Shane and me. I’m exciiiiited Open-mouthed smile

Have a great Saturday, ya’ll Smile

  1. I was totally a 90s bulls fan! I had the t-shirts and book and loved how great they were. Michael Jordan still is my favorite athlete! I can’t even keep up with who’s in the NBA now.

  2. It’s a big weekend of studying and homework for me, but also my boyfriend’s bday on Monday so I took him out to a really yummy breakfast this morning! A bday dinner for him with his family tomorrow night too!

  3. I was a big Bulls fan back in the day too! The year of the 3-peat, I made a huge collage with all the pictures I found in the newspapers. :)

  4. Paige…if you’re ever in P-town on a Saturday morning and want to catch a spin class let me know. I still teach at LOOP in Metro Center every Saturday at 9-9:45 and 10-11 and would love for you to try it sometime.

  5. Whenever my boyfriend is gone I love to make him a nice dinner and greet him with a special baked treat! Normally they are made with foods he loves but with a secret healthy spin 😉

  7. what an awesome thing to come home to! lucky man :) haha i’ve never been a basketball fan but i agree that those were the good old years of basketball. for me the memories are with patrick ewing hahahaha

  8. YES!!! huge BULL and MJ fans :)
so glad to hear that someone loved him as much as we did! still miss those days of basketball, we do not watch it anymore because to us it is not the same.

  9. 92-96 was actually my most intense “sports fan” phase. I was obsessed with the Knicks and Rangers. I could probably still recite the entire Rangers team from 94 when they won the Stanley Cup. I like MJ, but as a NY’er there was no cheering for the Bulls going on 😉

  10. Despite not being into the professional sports at all, I definitely rocked a Starter jacket in the 90’s…purely because everyone else did. Shameful.
