Morning Afternoon!
It’s been quite a busy Saturday over here. Last night I didn’t get home from Bunco until 11:30 (well, bunco ended at 10:00, but wine and chit chat lasted a little longer
) and then didn’t get in bed until midnight.
When I woke up at 7:30 this morning, I knew my planned 7:45 a.m. spin class wasn’t going to happen. So instead I headed to the gym and hopped on the treadmill and did this 1-2-3 interval run.
Usually whenever I do HIIT or regular interval runs (such as above) on the treadmill, they don’t last longer than 30 or 35 minutes. I find with this high of intensity, it’s all I want or need.
From there, I headed right to my clients house – I stretched after my workout with her pre-workout stretches – and then headed back home.
Breakfast was eaten on the run:
Doesn’t look good, but it sure was! Fage, 2 chopped medijool dates, and pecans. The sweetness from the dates made this SO yummy…it didn’t even need honey or any other sweetener!
The rest of the morning has involved double teaming the main floor (cleaning) with Shane and baking up a storm in the kitchen.
I’m working on a batch of paleo protein bars and I think I’ve almost got it! I made one small mistake with the first batch, so I won’t post the recipe yet.
However, up next on the agenda is try-try-trying again, and if my hunch is right, I have a feeling this next batch is going to be delicious. If it is, I’ll be sure to post ![]()
Now it’s (finally) shower time and hopefully nap time. Happy Saturday, friends!
What’s the last thing you baked?

I have a test batch of quinoa muffins in the oven right now!
Dates + pecans = bliss!
Last thing I baked was sweet potatoes (do they count? I’m not big on baking per se!)
Anxiously awaiting the new recipe!!
i haven’t baked much at all since christmas… i’d love to see your paleo protein bar recipe when it turns out!
i don’t think we need more cookies in the house for awhile, but some protein bars sound great!
I think the last thing I baked was back when I was making Christmas cookies! But I do have the ingredients for chocolate chip cookies ready to go tonight
The last thing I baked was quinoa bread, which I found on Clean Eating Chelsey (link: http://cleaneatingchelsey.com/2011/10/10/could-it-be-corn/). It was super yummy and filling…I definitely recommend it.
I made baked eggs for a brunch this morning if that counts! I took a muffin tin and placed a strip of cbacon around the outside edge and cracked an egg into the center. Baked at 350 for about 10-12 minutes. Easy peasy, yet aesthetically pleasing!
You are so lucky to have a hubby who bakes! what a guy! I think the last thing I baked was chocolate chip cookies.
Oh he doesn’t. I meant to say we cleaned, I baked
Oh, haha, I totally read that wrong!
oh yummmm….paleo protein bars I can’t wait. The last thing I baked incidentally enough was paleo banana bread. Was delish!
Love the look of that interval run. Saved it for a rainy day…literally. Ha! Happy Sunday!
Sweet! Let me know how you like it. I saved some of yours from yesterday’s post, too
the last thing i baked were vegan g-free carrot cookies… time to get in the kitchen again soon
