A Mandatory Plus

Hello from the gym!

I’m actually watching the gym for the owner this afternoon while he’s out, so I’ve been hanging here, lifting a little, blogging a little, and reading a little. Not a bad job.

I also ate a little:

The pumpkin cottage cheese combo’s back, baby!

I also had some chicken and wild rice for lunch earlier. Random, but it’s what I pulled out of the fridge while I was leaving. I hate being stuck somewhere without enough food when the munchies hit, ya know?

Workout

Back to the little lifting that I did. It was more like a lotta lifting. Enough to fill 45 minutes! The gym’s a little dead today…

Anyway, this is the workout I completed – circuit style, 3 times through at the reps and weights noted below. I’m digging the circuits lately Smileimage

A Mandatory Plus

Did you all hear the official Google news? That new Google account users will be forced to join Google+?

It’s true. Any users who want to sign up for a new Google email/accounts/docs/reader etc account will also have to join the Google+ world.

While I do think this is very unlike Google, and it surprises me a bit, I think it’s a smart move to package its amenities like this if it wants Google+ to take off.

I have to admit, I signed up for the social media platform months ago, but very rarely log on to Google+. I kinda hope it takes off though. However, I don’t think I’d be able to juggle both Facebook and Google+, so I think I’d have to choose – or at least limit my use of one or the other to only groups/boards that are important.

Gotta go…only a couple more hours of the (office) work week left! Happy Friday Smile

What do you think of Google making Google+ mandatory?

Sounds like a nice job – gym babysitting!

I’m not sure how I feel about the Google+ thing. I can see why they did it and I guess it’s up to the users still how much they want to participate in it as a social community even if it’s “mandatory”. We’ll see!

  2. I feel like the attempt is a little desperate. Everyone uses Gmail but Google+ has sort of lost steam since when everyone was super excited in the beginning. I have a Google+ account but barely ever go on. I’m still on Facebook all the time, though!

  3. This G+ thing does not surprise me. Months ago they turned off features in Reader and force you to use G+ to do them. They are shutting down Picnik in April and telling people to use G+. Get the hint Google – no one wants to use it. We use Facebook! Ugh. As you can tell, this infuriates me.

  4. okay, 1) how small is that gym that you can just “watch it” by yourself!?!? Haha mine has like 4 managers at once plus other staff members. Also, I’m on google + but I never ever use it. I don’t think it really matters.

  5. That is an odd path for Google, just when Facebook is about to implement its forced timeline switchover!

Good thing I already have my beloved Gmail! :)

  6. seems like google and facebook are teaming up haha, making everyone make changes. we signed for google+ but still do not know what to do with it

  7. I sound like an old person when I say this, but I’m still not completely sure what google+ is. Guess I need to check it out. It kind of overwhelms me though – I already don’t check facebook a ton and I don’t think I’d like to have another social media platform to check.

  8. I jumped on the G+ bandwagon too and I never use it — truthfully, I forget I even have it until someone follows me – which is rare so that’s gotta tell ya something ;)
