As I was layering up to head to the gym this morning, I realized that going to the gym is really a production. I have my pre-gym production down to a science. It goes like this:
- Drink cup of coffee while checking and responding to email.
- Make BCAA drink while changing into gym clothes.
- Now, here’s when I noticed it became a production – put on second layer of gym clothes before putting on coat to act as a “sweat barrier.”
I don’t know about you, but when I get done with my workout, I’m red faced, hot, and sweaty all over (what am I!?) I don’t want my gross sweaty arms, back, or legs getting my winter coat all sweaty and gross. So, I layer up with clothes that I don’t care if they get sweaty. Namely, these are long sleeved race t-shirts.
side note: does anyone else’s dog (and cat!) lay on anything you lay out on the bed? Surely Niko could find another comfy spot on this not-yet-made bed:
When I step in the house after getting back from the gym, the “barrier clothes” go directly into the dirty laundry, and my coat is still fresh and clean. It’s my system!
Today’s workout was power yoga, which was no joke! I’m having trouble getting to an actual class…I’m just not feeling it. I dunno what it is. Maybe the monotony of the same routine over and over and over? So, I sweated it out upstairs in the workout room via MTV Power Yoga.
After power yoga, I layered up and took Niko on about a 30 minute walk. Then back home – and out of my sweat barrier clothes – I got ready for the day.
I must have overestimated the time I had (surprise, surprise) so I had to hurry!
As such, breakfast was eaten on the go.
I had about ½ c. left in this Chobani container, to which I added pumpkin, cottage cheese, cinnamon, chia seeds, stevia, and currants, and a spoonful of almond butter. The usual. And for the record, I love eating while driving. I know they say it’s best to eat slowly and while sitting at a table with nothing on, but oh well
