Morning! How’s your weekend going? You could say I unplugged a bit. I meant to blog again yesterday, but by the time I finished with my Christmas cookie extravaganza yesterday I was exhausted!
I’ll be posting the cookies (with recipes!) throughout the week, don’t you worry The only thing I have left to do is frost my snowmen.
The rest of the weekend was filled with food, movie-watching, happy hours, and just being indulgent in general.
Friday night I went with Shane to a happy hour for one of his teams for work. I didn’t know anyone, but I had fun meeting them. Plus I was the only girl. Fun times!
PS – Shiner’s holiday ale is TDF. So spicey and Christmas-y Another great thing? Having our favorite pizza place being across the street from the bar downtown. We haven’t been to Lucca’s in forever!
I was starving, so I suggested an appetizer. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, which the serve with little fried won tons of their pizza dough. It’s fabulously sinful.
And we split a half veggie and half meat pizza.
We came home and watched Friends with Benefits, which turned out to be cute, but OK.
There was just as much sexy time as there was dialogue! I mean I’m not complaining – Justin T is in it. Just sayin’…
Saturday was fun. I woke up in just enough time to go to a spin class after being horizontal while reading about everyone else’s workout tweets in bed.
“Done with 10 miles!!!” “off to the gym for some cardio and weights!!” and “That was a great workout!!11!eleventy!!”
I know I’m an earlier riser than most, but seriously people, it’s 7:30! Anyway, spin class was fun. My trip to Wal-Mart was not. However, I went on the side of town where most people aren’t awake at 9:30 yet, so it was manageable.
You guys know how the rest of my day was spent.
Oh yes. I consumed dough for lunch. Luckily, I had eggs, cheese, and kale for breakfast, but lunch was about 7 different types of cookie dough. Again, not complaining – just sayin’
Saturday night was a lot like Friday – but without the happy hour. Actually, Shane had a happy hour, and I had water.
Shane said he was going ALL out and getting queso for our chips and a margarita when we headed to our fave Mexican joint last night. Watch out people!
After half a bowl of tortilla chips and salsa, we both got our huge portions of fajitas – steak for Shane and veggie for me.
And Shane got extra tortillas because I gave him mine
Mimicking Friday night, we came home to watch a movie. This time around we went with The Help.
A while back I read The Help, the book. I LOVED it. The movie? It was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. And like Cait said, it’s long. I found myself trying to tell myself it’d be OK to turn it off 3/4’s the way through because I knew what happened at the end. I didn’t though. I finished it.
And that, my friends, is my weekend in 500 words.
Today’s theme is all about cleaning. I have a client to train in a bit, but after that I’m scrubbing this house from top to bottom. It’s on.
Have a lovely Sunday, folks!
Are you baking any cookies this year? What kind??
Does it feel like Christmas break this weekend in your house? Shane and I were both commenting how it felt like Christmas vacation! Probably had something to do with not showering until 4 pm, but you know.
