Surprise Visitor

I’m happy to report that I was able to successfully run 4.25 miles today on the treadmill! Smile Actually, I ran 2.0 miles, took a walking break, and ran 2.25 more.

I think this cold is on its way out the door. Woohoo!

By the time I got home, showered, and dressed, I was hungry and craving soup for breakfast! Since it was technically almost lunchtime, I went with my craving and made some delicious lentil soup.

I’m completely not a soup person, but I had a fierce craving and this

I’m also not a huge canned soup fan, but I LOVED this flavor! Plus it was only a buck. I should have stocked up.

It was supposed to be lentil and spinach, but I only saw a few spinach leaves in the can. So, I added a big ol’ handful of my own spinach when it was almost done cooking.

It wilted down perfectly once done, and I topped it all with some parmesan cheese.

And I made Shane a hot ham and cheese with some carrots.

After lunch, Shane and I tag teamed and cleaned the entire main floor in about an hour. Counters, rugs, wood floors, bathroom, tile floors, done and done.

A bit later, we got a surprise visitor!

Destiny was on her way back up to Chicago and took a pit stop in good old Normal to see us Smile Niko was very excited to see her two BFF’s.

Make yourself right at home, Pocket Winking smile

Destiny just recently got engaged to her boyfriend (now fiance) Steve!! I am SO incredibly happy for her and cannot WAIT to start helping her plan.

Destiny and Steve are one of Shane and my absolute favorite couples. We always spend New Year’s Eve with them every single year!

Destiny also blessed Shane and I with the jar that keeps on giving…today at least.

Not sure how long it will last…

Cookie butter! Shane and I have been spoon dipping the entire day, so I went ahead and made some CB + celery to munch on while we watch the Bear’s game.

Have a great afternoon, loves.

Are you a soup person? What’s your favorite kind?
