You could say I’m not a big New Year’s Resolution person. Ok fine, I kinda hate NY resolutions. Thinking about a goal to make and hold myself to for the NEW year? Way too overwhelming. I had good intentions on 2009 and 2010 resolutions, but still… not for me. Or maybe I’ve just changed.
Instead, I tend to act immediately if I want to change something. My goals are constant. If I find myself stressing out way too much, I act to change that as soon as I detect it.
In fact, I currently have two “working on myself”…isms going on right now.
1. Coupon clipping printing
My friend, Steph, saves bajillions with coupons and a couple weeks ago, she let me in on all her secrets. Now, half of my Google reader consists of Coupon blogs and websites and I spend the first 30 minutes of my day looking at the latest coupons.
I’m happy to say I saved a whopping $21 at Jewel today ![]()
Boom.
If you guys would be interested, I’d be happy to write a post on what I’ve learned so far.
2. Crafting
I can completely blame this on Pinterest, but one of my current new fascinations (I refuse to say the word goal/resolution/vow etc!) st putting thought into things and crafting gifts.
I’m working on a special New Year’s gift for a very special friend and I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

Lunch
In between cleaning, dealing with Walgreens.com photo shop (check out this deal!! – hello coupons
) and researching, I stopped for lunch.
This would be some lentil soup (Progresso brand…I love it) over some brown rice and sprouts from last night’s dinner. With a Vitamin Water Zero – Go-Go. Shane’s got me hooked on them!
I know it’s a bit of an odd combination, but it was so good and a great way to get in some veggies.
Have a great afternoon! ![]()
Do you make New Year’s resolutions? If so, what are some of them?

haha ugh i hate NY resolutions i like to make potential claims of things i MIGHT work on. but for resolutions they just always end up being a let down hahaha so i just roll with it and maybe i work on something maybe i dont! i might just resolve to eat more soup this winter though
I like the idea of New Year’s resolutions, but never seem to commit to them. This year, I’d like to come up with 3-5 resolutions and stick to them! For 2011, I wanted to train for a half and full marathon, and I completed both successfully.
Yes – please write a post on coupon blogs / couponing! I dabble in this as well and always love reading about others’ techniques and tips.
I USED to make them every year, but soon learned, that if I ever failed at something, I would beat myself up pretty badly. So now, I stay away from resolutions.
p.s. I LOVE couponing!! Have you tried Southern Savers yet?
No I haven’t! Is it just for southern states? Or would Illinois count?
I don’t like resolutions either. I’m not making any!
I’m like you in that I go after goals when they strike. So, I’m not a big resolutioner in the traditional sense but I like what I did last year on having a “theme for the year”. It was easy to remember and keep things in that perspective and it paid off. I actually have my post about it coming up tomorrow.
i’ve never been much of a New Year’s resolutions person myself. i am a huge goal oriented person, but i like to make my goals with more of a “deadline” in mind. i make a few small new goals for myself each month which i find works much better for me than a whole year’s worth of goals.
p.s. love to hear more about your couponing tips!
You’re so funny! I’m a big resolution person – but really they’re more to-do or to-enjoy items – things I want to accomplish!
Love the wine + fitness magazine!
I’m not big on resolutions either. I constantly have “goals” for myself throughout the year but I don’t feel any need to declare them come Jan. 1.
I would love to hear about the couponing stuff. Usually I get super overwhelmed with couponing and end up doing nothing so if you have some easy to approach way to it all, I’m all ears!
Will do! I’m still working on that whole easy approach thing for now
Ooo! Please share any grocery/toiletry coupon websites!!
I likely won’t make a resolution –just continue staying on track and living a balanced healthy lifestyle. That’s my life goal, lol.
As soon as I get a better system down, I’ll be sure to share
Im with you! I dislike putting so much pressure on a goal! I like to make a few general goals yo focus on for a couple months. That soup looks goood!
I like making resolutions, but they’re always pretty general and things I’m already working on trying to do. I more just make them because I feel like it’s what you’re supposed to do, and I like setting goals for myself.
I dislike New Year’s resolutions, I plan to make goals this year not resolutions. I think we should resolve to change today and not wait until New Years!! I like your “wine” resolution!!!
i LOLed at resolving to flush the toilet every time you go.
i also totally vote yes for a post on coupon tips =P
Would love for you to write a post on couponing, I love a good bargin!
I usually do make a resolution to live even healthier than I have in the past; but it’s kind of like you said, something I’m always continuously working on. It doesn’t magically start on January 1st.
And I would LOVE a post about what you’ve learned about saving money!!
I’m not much for new year’s resolutions either. I need shorter, more practical deadlines. Although I am slogging away on my 30 Before 30.
I’d love to read about your couponing strategies.
I’ve totally been into coupon-ing! I print coupons when I can and have saved some money… hoping it will be more in 2012. My resolutions list is going up in a few days.
I am a goal-setter, not a resolution-er…
And coupon advice, please!
