Gun Powder and Lead
Guns have always scared me. They’re just so…final. Even now, just thinking about holding one makes me shudder.
I know, I know, guns are only as dangerous as the person holding it.This doesn’t comfort me! There are some seriously clutzy people in this world – myself included! Not to mentions psychos who don’t have a criminal record…yet.
Even after I went to the shooting range with my dad, brother, and Shane – and nailed my target over and over!! – I’m still afraid.
So…one might wonder what I’m doing with this little gem:
Yep, that’s right. My FOID card came in the mail today. I’m not sure why I applied for it, but my parents seem to think I NEED it before Illinois’s gun laws become even stricter. Illinois is currently the only state that does NOT allow conceal and carry, or whatever.
Whether or not it’ll ever be of use, I don’t know, but it kinda makes me feel a little hardcore! And scared… haha
From gun powder to protein powder, breakfast today featured a quick, delicious, and seemingly indulgent protein-filled meal:
I made some pancakes with 1 scoop of brown rice protein powder, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, sea salt, 1/2 banana, tsp. coconut oil, and an egg. Then, I fried up two eggs, and sandwiched them in between the pancakes.
Then I drizzled syrup on top of everything, because it was the only logical thing to do. Simply delish.
My workout today was pretty intense. I headed to the gym after drinking a BCAA drink, and did this lifting workout.
That took about 35 minutes, and then I hopped on the treadmill and ran at a 6.5 pace for about 20 more minutes before cooling down and stretching out.
Have a great day, loves! I’m actually off today, so plans are to craft and clean. Anyone know where I can find some cheap black thread? I want to do my nails like this.
I’ll be back this afternoon with your cookie of the day recipe!
What are your thoughts on conceal and carry? Despite my qualms on firearms, I think Illinois needs to get with the program. Ya hear that governor Quinn?
