Bring Us Some (white chocolate bread) Pudding

Merry Christmas Eve!!

Shane and I took this picture yesterday after exchanging our ornaments. Every year since I moved in with him (2007) we’ve exchanged ornaments.

Here’s this year’s–

His, to me:

Mine, to him:

I gave a shot at making mine, and it turned out… all right. Luckily, Shane is “it’s the thought that counts” and loved it. Or maybe he lied and said he loved it. Either way fine by me Winking smile

Yesterday Shane and I visited my friend Heidi and her baby boy Eli (cutest baby EVER) and then beebopped around town, getting last minute gifts.

There was a little of this:

waiting in line

which required a little of this to ease our stresses:

Later, we ventured back out to our favorite restaurant in town, Biaggi’s. When Shane suggested we made reservations, I jumped at the chance to go. Usually it’s just a special occasion type of place for us!

We actually got there a bit early, so we sat at the bar and had a cocktail:

I had a French martini, which is my absolute favorite cocktail.

Once seated, we ordered a bottle of wine to share.

Biaggi’s has a policy where you can bring your own wine bottle to drink, but I always feel a little funny about doing it. We’ve never done it, just because we’d feel tacky whipping out a bottle of wine from my purse. Meh…I dunno. What do you think?

Anyway, while we were sipping our wine, we virtually attacked the bread basket:

love bread + olive oil + parm Open-mouthed smile

For our main dishes, I ordered the butter sole with vegetable israeli cous cous.

I actually thought we’d skip the usual white chocolate bread pudding, just because it’s been an indulgent week altogether.

However, after I said that Shane said, “I don’t even know who you ARE anymore!!!!” and it was done.

This time, however, we didn’t actually attack it, but sipped coffee and slivered off pieces. There was actually some left at the end!

We had so much fun taking our time and indulging on life last night!

Christmas Eve

I woke up feeling pretty good, so I headed to the gym to get in a Christmas Eve run. Surprisingly, I wasn’t the only one at the gym. A few of my regulars were there!

After doing a weight circuit that would quickly cover all my basis:

  • 10 pushups
  • 10 back squats w/ bar
  • 10 assisted pull ups
  • 10 deadlifts

I hopped on the treadmill and did this HIIT workout. I was nice and sweaty by the time I finished.

So I stretched in my sweat barrier clothes Smile

Haven’t had breakfast yet, but we’re expected to eat THREE Christmas dinners today, so I’ll probably keep it light with a smoothie.

Happy Christmas Eve to all my readers who celebrate!! Open-mouthed smile

What do you think about bringing your own wine to restaurants?

Are you doing any celebrating today? Share!!
