FB Interval Strength Workout + The Next Half

Well, that was one beast of a Tuesday! I started training a couple new clients this week, and that means early mornings for this chica.

My morning started out bright and early at 5:00 as I prepped for a client at 5:30. The session went well, and I think we’re going to accomplish TONS though. I think we’re both excited about it, haha :)

After running home and making a smoothie for breakfast (surprise, surprise, right??) I was off to the office to put on my project planning hat for the day. Even though I only do this less than 3 days per week now, there are some days when it causes me to have marathon days! Such as yesterday.

After playing with hours and dollars all day, I headed back to the gym to get in my own workout. Although my half was 3 days ago, my legs feel great! so I cranked out the following full body workout:

Full Body Interval Workout

Under/Over the Fence(10)
Squat Jumps (15)
Walking Push Ups (10)
Jumping Switch Lunges (10 on each side)
Turkish Get Ups (5 on each side)
Row and Clean (10)

Repeat 3 x’s through

I was good and sweaty by the end of it, and left myself 10 minutes to do a quick clean up before training two more clients. One of my clients started Couch 2 5K last night (!!!) so we did the first night of that. So far so good:)

By the time I got home it was pretty late, so dinner choices were slim. In this house, Mexican food is always a fast and delicious option!


I just reheated some vegetarian refried beans I’d frozen, put a little in a ww tortilla, along with sour cream, salsa, and avocado.


On the side, more refried beans + a little cheese melted on top. Done and done – and delicious 😉

what’s your go to dinner option when running short on time? For me, it’s leftovers or Mexican! Or a big gigantic salad.

In other news, I signed up for my next half marathon!


The Chicago Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon is in August, and although the price tag was pretty high ($110) I signed up under the American Brain Tumor Associate. As you know, my cousin, Beth, just passed away last week from brain cancer, so this cause is extremely near and dear to my heart…especially now. I’m planning on doing a little fundraising to help, too :) My cousin, Bronwyn, will also be running the race, so I’m really looking forward to it! Plus, I get another chance to beat my goal time 😉 This one is at the end of summer, so I anticipate some seriously sweaty training runs coming up!

And with that, I’m headed to go train a client and then logging the daytime hours at the BIC.

  1. sauteed frozen shrimp with brocolli. cook it in some chicken broth, throw it over some pasta with some parm cheese and its delicious!

    Is it weird that whenever I see “FB”, I think of facebook? So I was like, “what’s a facebook workout?”

    Yeah, I’m weird.

  3. I could eat Mexican three meals a day! I wish I could make salads my go-to meal, but I’m too lazy to chop and clean everything I like to include. Smoothies and omelets are quick and easy.
