Morning! Today’s my first day back at the BIC, so I’m moving very cautiously this morning. Although I brought my laptop home, I never once opened it. Since I had so much going on in the fitness gig yesterday, I didn’t want the stress of an overflowing inbox to get the best of me.
So the game plan for today, is to give everything a few seconds to sink in before I react. I’m a big react-er. I tend to react right on the spot instead of stepping back and thinking about it. But today…that’s my goal Oh, and also to keep calm and think palm trees 😉
Last night’s Biggest Loser Initial Weigh In was a huge success! I had a great turnout of people that signed up, and it was really great talking to each of them about their goals and what their history was. To say I’m super pumped for them is an understatement 😀 The prizes are pretty legendary, too!!
After weighing the participants in, I trained a client and came home to make dinner – and eggplant pasta dish! (I’ll be posting the recipe later today.)
Before I left for the gym, I roasted some eggplant, so the rest was super simple for me to do when I got home.
This dish was 100% vegetarian, and both Shane and I LOVED it.
I couldn’t believe it when Shane kept going up for seconds and thirds! He’s usually not a huge fan of eggplant. The sauce I made was delicious.
However, the dessert was what I’d been waiting for allll day…BIRTHDAY cake!
Shane had gotten me a birthday cake Sunday for my birthday, but after the bread pudding, we wanted nothing to do with it. So why not extend the celebration?
Good enough reason for me! The cake was just from Kroger…but they make a darn tasty cake!!
Try this tri-set!
This is the double tri-set I did a couple times while in Punta Cana. You go through the first set of exercises, moving directly from one exercise to the next, completing 10 reps of each set. Complete the “1” exercises three times through, rest, and then do the same for the second set of exercises. It took me about a half hour and I was BEAT. Efficient is the name of the game for this workout 😉
Remember to ask your doctor before beginning any new exercise program!
1a) Dumbbell Clean and Press (emphasize the squats a bit more for a bigger burn)
1b) Army Crawl + Pushup combo (in a plank position, bring one knee to the outside of the same side elbow, then the other, then do a push up. repeat for 10 reps)
1c) Jump Squats
—-two minutes rest—-
2a) Stationary Lunge + Lateral Raise (use a light weight for the raise; 10 on one leg, 10 on other)
2b) Stiff Leg Dumbbell Deadlift w/ Double Row
2c) Lunge jumps (20 total)
And I’m off! After working at the BIC, I’m training a couple new clients afterwards. Busy Tuesday!
