Accent Vlog/Olog + Deep Condition and Clean

Yesterday I only had one client – and she rescheduled to this morning, so I had the entire day free!! So after being reduced to a puddle of sweat in my spin class (I worked the hardest I’ve ever worked according to my HRM – and my towel ;) ) I shopped it up.

I hit up Bed Bath and Beyond for some storage units from the laundry room and then hit up Target for some undergarment replacements. Every now and then I like to get rid of all Shane and my undergarments and buy all new ones. I try to buy cheap at the Target or the Gap so I don’t get attached to any single garment by its prettiness, thusly keeping it too long. Well, that was a little personal…

Moving on!

Once home, I put a deep conditioning mask on my hair and spent the next three hours deep cleaning the laundry room and main floor.

I used this mask, by the way, and my hair feels freaking awesome.

A client uses is on her hair and loves it and gave a bottle for me to try out – I loved it to! I think she bought it on QVC.

The Accent Vlog!

Many different bloggers have posted a little activity called, the accent vlog on their blogs (I first saw it through That Wife’s blog and Healthy Tipping Point’s blog.) I thought it was such a fun idea that’s purpose is to say certain key words that people pronounce differently through accents as well as certain key phrases that different areas say differently.

I decided to join in the fun and give it a whirl!

Note 1: I just woke up…and am in the ultimate comfy clothes. Don’t judge :)

  • What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
  • What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
  • What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
  • What do you call gym shoes?
  • What do you say to address a group of people?
  • What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped
  • body and extremely long legs?
  • What do you call your grandparents?
  • What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry
  • groceries at the supermarket?
  • What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
  • What is the thing you change the TV channel with?

I’ve always thought I had the “tv accent” – AKA no accent at all. What do you think?

PS – Shane commented that vlog is totally the wrong for video blog. Since the word blog comes from web-blog, a video-blog should be olog. He’s a clever one!

OK off to the gym for a run! (YAY!) And then training a client. I may or may not test drive a couple cars today – I’m planning on buying a new one in the next couple months!

Oh – and Shane and I did indeed go on our little adventure last night, but I don’t have all the pictures of the final..erm…product to show you guys yet! So I’ll write about it tomorrow :D

  3. Loved the accent video!! To me, you tooootally have a midwestern accent. As someone who also studied and worked in broadcast journalism, word pronunciation kind of fascinates me. When I worked at the radio station, my boss used to call me every time I mis-pronounced something on air. Down to how long I held my vowels for :P

  4. That is a fun idea! I am from Washington state and I pronounce things just as you do. I would say we both don’t have an accent.

  9. I am a little obsessed with the accent vlogs! When I read blogs, I think I hear the blogger’s “voice,” but hearing it for real is so different. I always think people that say words differently than me have an accent, when it’s really me that has the heavy accent. I am not in love with the RI accent and when I get deep into a conversation, it’s sooo bad!
