Vitamix Pipe Dreams and an Anniversary Giveaway

Afternoon!

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes :D I have to admit, I felt a little vulnerable posting all of those wedding pictures. But…then I figured they’re posted elsewhere on the internet (with our permission) for the public to see, so why not?

I woke up this morning and deemed it only appropriate to bring out my anniversary present to make an anniversary breakfast:

For those of you who guessed a Vitamix, you guessed right.

I may or may not have done a happy dance…

However, the trickster got me at first. A box filled with a cook book…cotton balls…and bricks? “Well cotton balls represent the 2nd year anniversary,” he said. By this time, I knew he was joking ;)

See what he did for the first traditional anniversary gift here.

The real deal.

Obviously, I began filling it up and blending my little heart frozen bananas out:

Let it be known that I thought owning a Vitamix was among the wishes of finally finding “a spot” for my keys, leaving the house on time for work, and dating Justin Timberlake. You know, a pipedream.

smoothest smoothie evaa.

Shane’s response to my Vitamix pleas were along the line of "you’re out of your freaking mind.”

Needless to say, it was a very pleasant surprise :D

the vortex I’d only heard about in story books Vitamix reviews.

I immediately put it to the test.

What used to take around 5 MINUTES of me looking like I was dirty dancing with my old blender (it took constant shaking in order for it to get what I was blending smooth) took the Vitamix not even 30 seconds.

I was amazed. And I obviously have a slight obsession with pumpkin pie smoothies in a bowl with crumbled whole wheat pumpkin bread on top ;)

ok, ok – now on to the Anniversary Giveaway!

The classic and delicious Valdosta pecans.

Read my review of Sahale snacks waaayyyyy back in this post. If you don’t feel like reading, I liked ‘em – very delicious glazed nuts!

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment about a dream that you once thought was a pipe dream, but has since come true! It can be silly like owning a Vitamix (actually…that’s very serious business) or serious like a huge life change.

Comment away – and I’ll pick a winner at random and in Thursday morning’s post :D

Have a fabulous end to your Monday, friends! I’m off to do a wee bit more work, and then Shane and I are going to celebrate the anniversary a little more :)

I had dreams about getting married a whole month before we got engaged. CRAZY!!

I’m so jealous of your blender–I don’ think I could ever convince hubby to go for it.

  2. I used to never think I’d be below 200 lbs again…. I’ve lost 35 lbs so far, down to 180 and still going!!

  3. hmmm…

  4. I want to run a 5k in under 22 minutes.

I’m pretty sure this means more speedwork will have to happen. But I’m gonna do it!!!

  5. Congrats on the Vita-mix and the anniversary! My favorite thing to make is the endless varieties of nut butters with my Vita-mix.

My pipe dream was completing a half- marathon, and I did it last May. It might not have been quick, but it was 13.1 continuous miles of effort, both mentally and physically.

  6. My pipe dreams –

    running a marathon
    falling in love

    And for future:

    getting a PhD

  7. Happy Anniversary! What a great gift, your husband did well!
My anniversary is coming up in a couple weeks:)

  8. Well #1 wish would be…to win the LOTTERY!…and since that’s a long shot—my next one is to be able to run my first half marathon without dying…and considering that I’m not a fan of “running”… I hope and wish that that would come true.

Congrats on the Vitamix — I feel the same way about mine..

  9. Running a 10 K!

  10. Yay! Congrats on the Vitamix! So exciting!

I thought that living by myself and loving it would never happen, but it totally has! I am living it up!

  11. Awww! Yay :) I’m excited about your vitamix!! Hmmm the one thing I got that I never thought I would get would have to be my jeep! It seems kind of lame, but I’d wanted one since birth! After saving up, I finally made it happen :)

  12. When I was a young (age 7-13) I had this dream of traveling Norway and speaking Norwegian. However, I have a VERY difficult time learning new languages (as far as my learning strengths are concerned). That, and Norway is freaking expensive. So this dream was far off. Earlier this year I lived in Norway for a semester. I took a fast progression language course and travelled the country. I got to see the area, made Norwegian friends and progressed far enough where I could speak Norwegian for the entire day (including sitting down with native Norwegians and chatting over coffee). This is one dream I made a reality!

  13. I thought running a marathon was a pipe dream. Now, running a marathon is a reality.

Enjoy your luxuriously smooth smoothies! What a perfect gift :)

  14. I dreamed of getting a Gucci Bag for my Birthday and lucky for me, my parents were able to get me that amazing gift!! :)

  15. i am sooo happy for you!!!!

i got mine about 2 yrs ago and it changed my life. at first you make alot of dips and purees. Then you realize you can throw out your: stand mixer, blender, food proc, juicer, and every other appliance other than your coffee maker:)

Some ppl say they need those other things, i dont. Vita only.

Pipe dream? a day after closing on our house in AZ HATING AZ and thinking id never get back to san diego. But we did, 10 mos later :)

  16. My biggest pipe dream growing up was to someday work in the concert business. It’s a lot less glamorous than I once envisioned, however I’ve been in it for almost 7 years and still am lovin’ it.
Another one was of settling down with the man of my dreams… we’ve been together for 6 years, bought a house this year. I still gotta convince him that marriage isn’t *scary*, but I’d say we’re settled!

  17. And – hooray for the VitaMix! What a great anniversary gift!

  18. going to Europe… we leave next summer :) there’s a light at the end of the pipe! ahhh! the blender of champions! congrats!

  19. My pipe dream was going to Canada for skiing. Had always wanted to go since I am a huge skiier. My husband surprised me for our honeymoon by taking me to Whistler, Canada!

    He must love me! ;)

  20. i never thought i would make it to italy — and definitely not before i was married. i assumed i’d have my honeymoon there. i was just there in january and it was fabulous!

  21. Happy, happy annversary! I love the pictures – what a beautiful wedding!

Honestly, one of my pipe-dreams just came true: I’m writing and it’s being published! It’s not a paying gig and I’m still working full time in another job that I don’t enjoy, but it’s a move in the right direction!

  22. You are soooo lucky! I have dreamed of owning the Vitamix! I just celebrated my 2nd anniversary last week and unfortunately, I did not receive something that cool. :) Congrats on the anniversary and enjoy the Vitamix. Hopefully, I will own one someday . . .
