Talking ‘Bout Shift Work
Good morning 😀 Happy Saturday!
Some of you guys have some pretty darn nifty kitchen gadgets. And can I just say, I’m jealous of how many of you have Vitamixes?! I want! If you haven’t entered my giveaway, you have all weekend to do so
Yesterday was my first day back to working all day on Fridays, and let me tell ya – it wasn’t easy! I know, you’re thinking oh, get over it, everyone works all day on Fridays! But I’ve only worked until 10:30 on them for more than a year, and I recently changed my schedule to allow for more time to train clients while I’m not at my full time job, and that included going back to 8 by 5’s.
When I got home, I wanted nothing more than a glass of pinot:
One glass was all I needed! It took the edge off and I relaxed with the husband while sipping on it.
After a couple episodes of watching the Big Bang Theory, the topic of what plans for the night were, came up. We almost decided to drive across town for a night of bowling and dining out, but decided it’d be better economically to stay home and watch 24. hehe. See, the hubski and I are really watching our budget lately. We have some big plans coming up in the next year or so (for each one of us individually, and us as a couple) which involves taking several risks. And anyone knows it’s better to take risks when you’re financially sound, or at least have a nice cushion in the savings account 😉
So while Shane went to get a $5 pizza from Little Caesar’s for him down the street, I made a yummy salad:
Organic spinach, broccoli, meatless balls, goddess dressing. Delish.
When Shane got back with his pizza, he said, “I got some crazy bread for you, too!” He knows I’m a weakling around crazy bread.

Next we got wild and crazy and watched
three episodes two and a half episodes, and fell asleep during the last half of the third epi of 24, and called it a night.
After eight delicious hours of sleep, woke up and had coffee on the brain:
After a cup or two, I made some pre-long run breakfast:
Love Ezekiel’s English muffins. One with Earth Balance, Maca, and organic strawberry jam, and the other with Barney Butter.
Oh, and a side of B-Complex and probiotics 😉
This was my pre-run fuelage. I was planning on attempting my 6 miles out on the open road after running outside on Thursday, but after the snow last night, and flurries coming down currently, looks like I’ll be pounding it out on the T-mill. Then it’s off to the grocery stores, and then the hubski and I are off to a friend’s house to play in a Euchre tournament!! 😀 The last tournament we went to there, I came out the winner! (and richer ;))

What’s everyone’s work schedules like? Are you a day shifter, a night shifter, a work from home shifter, etc? I know work first shift 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, so pretty standard here! Plus I train on nights/early mornings/weekends.
