Heyyy everyone! I’m switchin’ it up and posting before I hit the sack tonight.
I’m so glad ya’ll liked my goals for 2010! Thanks for all of the encouragement and help, too. Seriously ya’ll know how to lift someone up! Not to mention, all of you had just as wonderful goals. I can’t wait to read more about ‘em!
Did you have a lovely Tuesday? Mine was quite peachy!
Woke up started this lovely Tuesday morning and made myself the usual green monster, and then some stove top oats:
- ½ cup oats
- 1 cup water
- ¼ cup canned pumpkin
- 1 T agave
- 1 t pumpkin butter
- And a new friend! PB2
Gotta tell ya…still not too impressed with the PB2. I could barely even taste it. Maybe I need to add more? I only added one tbsp. Or perhaps I need to try it in a stirfry, like Bree suggested.
Either way, it didn’t ruin the oats, and they were delicious, per the ushe. In fact, it was a very fitting day for a nice, hot, bowl of oats. It was only 8 degrees out upon waking up. Single digits! Ekk!
Work wasn’t too shabby either. It’s the week before a holiday, again, so most people are gone, which allowed for some catch up on my part. Gotta love that
I broke for lunch around 11:30. And when I say broke for lunch, I mean, I ate this at my desk while I worked:
House salad! And when I say house salad, I mean this salad is as big as a house!
With a side of Mary’s crackers, and a yummy dessert of dark chocolate.
It’s so dark it’s black! I think that’s the highest % of cacao in chocolate I’ve ever had. Deeeelish.
I decided to skip my actual lunch “break” and eat at my desk, because I left work two hours early. One of my best friends, Heidi (I’ve mentioned her a couple times on here!) just had her baby, and it’s a girl!! It’s her first baby, and they waited until she was born to find out the sex, but I always knew it was a girl And obviously, no pictures because of privacy issues. But I will tell you, she’s got a head full of hair, and she is the most gorgeous baby ever! Takes after her mom and dad fo sho. Oh my uterus, was she ever adorable.
And although I can’t show you how adorable the baby is, I can show you this precious pink onsie that I picked up on the way to the hospital:
Baby and mama lurved it
I got home around 5, and it was time to get my work out on.
I don’t think I mentioned it on here, but the other day when we had company over, I took a really hard fall in the kitchen. It was wet, and snowy, and somehow I slipped, and my feet went over my head, and I landed on my left hip. It was one of those bad falls that ends with a big KABOOM. Well, yesterday after running 3.5 miles and doing the step mill for another 15 minutes, my body was not happy with me. My hip is killing me, my knee hurts, and my side is in pain. Pretty much my whole left side of my body hates me.
With that said, I took it easy on the workout front, and did a 75 minute yoga podcast instead. It was intense, and I was dripping with sweat by the end of it. Easy Schmeasy. However, my left side did really enjoy the hip-opening exercises. I am really loving the yoga lately. Although I’ve said it before, I really, really wish there was a good yoga studio in this town.
I didn’t realize how hungry I was until I finished yoga. As soon as I came out of shavasana, my stomach was a-roaring for some foods!
These lasagna rolls I made on Sunday were SO delicious, I was happy to eat them again tonight as leftovers. Which reminds me – a few of you asked for the recipe for the his and hers versions for these roll ups. I’d be happy to put to share:) Look for a post on them here in a couple days!
With the lasagna, I steamed some broccoli and drizzled just a bit of organic honey mustard on it:
Yumtopia. I have a feeling I’ll be eating this combination until that big bag of broccoli in my fridge is gone!
With the meal I had a small glass of Da Vinci Chianti:
And then just after I took this picture, the camera (THE camera – my dad’s 40D Cannon) stopped taking pictures. After freaking out for a bit and fumbling through the settings myself, I gave up, and surrendered it to the hubski. He, then fumbled around with it for a good 10-20 minutes, and then finally shouted, “It’s back to normal!!”
*Phew!!* I didn’t think that I broke it, although it was in the back of my mind. That would not have been a fun conversation to have with my dad. Don’t worry, Dad, all is well I love that camera and all, but I don’t know that I could ever own one. Those things are WAY too expensive for my clumsiness. Being completely
honest, I have ruined/lost probably four nice cameras in the past six years. I’m horrible with cameras. However, that might change with an uber nice one. I said the same thing about sunglasses until I switched from the cheapies to more expensive ones, and I still have every pair of nice ones I own!
Well boys and girls, it’s past my bedtime. Better head up!
Do you have a super nice camera? Does it make you nervous to bring it places? I don’t know…I’d be afraid I’d break it, or you know, leave it on a bus in a foreign country or something.
Have a Wonderful Wednesday! This week is going by fast!!
